- Looks at some of the available online dictionaries to see how they measure up against their print counterparts. Outlines the basic requirements of an online dictionary and reviews the following: the Merriam-Webster; the Hypertext Webster; OneLook Dictionaries; the Newbury House Online Dictionary; the Elza Oxford and Elza Webster; and Australia's MacquarieNet Dictionary. concludes that the Merriam-Webster is easily the best of the current crop of online dictionaries, but none yet is as easy to use as a standard desktop paper dictionary
