- Abstract
- Since the 1970s the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) has worked toward establishing an international system of authority control. It concentrated on two main areas: publication of international authority lists, and formulation of international rules for the structure of authority forms. The work of IFLA in these areas is described in this paper.
