- Abstract
- Three essays offer varying perspectives on the value of OCLC's Serials Control Subsystem (SCS), which ceased operation on 31 Dec 88. Elaine Rast offers her views on the value of the periodicals union list component of SCS; Sharon Scott focuses on the impact of periodical union lists and a provision of quality periodicals cataloguing records and cataloguing standards; and Sylvia Martin traces the history of SCS development at Vanderbilt University and the value of those experiences when migrating to a new automated system.
