    Abstract
Quality, quality control, quality assurance and quality management are becoming increasingly important in using online services and online databases. Focuses on the production of online bibliographic databases and discusses possible attributes responsible for the quality of this type of online database. Considers different stages in the production of the databases: acquisition of the original documents; quality of document analysis in the selection of the documents; and subject and bibliographic analysis. Shows how the quality attributes of the different production steps may be measured. Describes, as an example, a database production system with its testing routines and reference data
