    Abstract
    For some years it has been out of question that growing up with two languages doesn't harm the linguistic development. As it is important for the development of the language to look at picture books and to listen to stories, parents, speaking a language different from the German language, should be encouraged to read books in their own language to their children. Books in foreign languages or bilingual books are not easily to be found in German bookshops. Therefore, public libraries should provide a stock of books in different languages. The article describes the special situation of Arabic books, where to buy them and how to make a choice. Further on, the article informs about how to read bilingual books to groups of children.
