    Abstract
    Contribution to an issue devoted to the topic of teaching users of scientific and technical libraries how to use information resources effectively. Describes a quarter-credit course entitled 'The electronic library' developed at the School of Life Sciences, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The aim of the course is to create informaed end users of the electronic life sciences literature, and the topics covered, which included Boolean logic, database selection, the Internet, resources available at the University, and the future of electronic information
