- Discusses the nature of feedback. Reports preliminary results for an exploratory study investigating the nature of feedback during 40 cases of user-intermediary-information retrieval system interaction. Analysis revealed five types of feedback based on human judgements related to either the magnitude, relevance or strategic aspects of the system's output. Feedback during human-information retrieval system interaction was found to be a more complex phenomenon than previously understood
