    Abstract
Raises a number of questions concerning current issues and problems in publishing and electrocopying in the academic field. Considers the influence of the Internet, the role of publishers in the future academic market, and how copyright law might develop as a result of changes in the digital world. Scholarly authors may in fact be better renumerated without publishers: universities will become Internet publishers. In the USA, 16 research institutes and libraries have formed the Digital Library Federation, and various models for scholarly communication in the electronic age are under discussion, aimed at providing appropriate methods of copyright clearance and renumeration mechanisms

    Abstract
Recent conferences on the state of access to scholarly information in Australia and the USA have revealed the confusion that currently exists about its dissemination. Print still appears to have a strangehold in universities, via the tenure or promotion process: at the same time increasingly sophisticated technologies allow effective network publishing by individual academics to their collegues. Reviews some recent developments and comments, and speculates on future outcomes

    Abstract
Discusses how information will be found in digital libraries of the future. Suggests that a metadata approach to cataloguing will prevail, whereby the content of the data will be analysed at source, rather than on receipt by an intermediary, altering the role of the cataloguer, who will be required to evaluate as well as classify and index. Web site administrators may have to provide site metadata for use by global indexers; provides some examples of projects aimed at developing standards and assisting information providers in creating descriptive metadata
