    Abstract
Cataloging machine-readable data files (MRDF) is a new challenge to librarians. At the University of Florida, several months were spent on the development of procedures for cataloging computer files. Problems are identified and the University of Florida's solutions to these problems are provided. Our goal was to provide model research library approaches for handling MRDF, specifically magnetic tape computer files.
