    Abstract
    Das nestor Handbuch "Eine kleine Enzyklopädie der digitalen Langzeitarchivierung" bietet einen aktuellen, breit gefächerten Überblick zum Themenbereich Langzeitarchivierung digitaler Objekte. Eine Vielzahl ausgewiesener Experten geben in Fachbeiträgen einen direkten Einstieg zu grundlegenden Fragestellungen. Darüber hinaus bieten sie in vielen Fällen einen vertiefenden Einblick in einzelne Aspekte der Langzeitarchivierung: von technischen und rechtlichen Bedingungen bis hin zu praktischen Vorüberlegungen für konkrete Archivierungsaktivitäten. Seit Frühjahr 2007 ist das Handbuch in einer Online-Version verfügbar und wird seitdem ständig weiterentwickelt. Die nun auch in gedruckter Form vorliegende Version 2.0 wurde neu strukturiert, um zusätzliche Themenfelder ergänzt und bislang schon vorhandene Beiträge wurden - wo fachlich geboten - überarbeitet. Ziel des Herausgeberkreises ist es, mit diesem Handbuch all jenen ein informatives Hilfsmittel an die Hand zu geben, die sich über das Thema Langzeitarchivierung aus einer deutschsprachigen Quelle informieren wollen -- gleich ob als Praktiker, Student, Wissenschaftler oder interessierter Leser.
