- Abstract
- Informationsangebote im Internet sind immer häufiger nicht nur Referenzinformationen, sondern Textinformationen. Somit ist es die von den Interessenten gewünschte Information selbst, die als Textpublikation oder als Ausschnitt aus einer solchen Publikation mit den entsprechenden Retrieval- und Anzeigeinstrumenten direkt bereitgestellt wird. Diese Texte haben ganz unterschiedliche Entstehungszusammenhänge. Sie werden z.B. speziell und gezielt als Internet-Informationsangebote neu erstellt. als wissenschaftliche Publikationen im Interesse leichter und schneller Verbreitung in Form von Preprints oder Parallelpublikationen über das Netz bereitgestellt oder als elektronische Reprints wissenschaftlich Interessierten erneut und in neuer Form zur Verfügung gestellt. Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick zu den verschiedenen elektronischen Volltextvarianten, kategorisiert sie und erläutert an Beispielen ihre Spezifika sowie die Zugriffs- bzw. Bereitstellungsverfahren

- Abstract
- Das Projekt "Dissertationen Online" finanziert von der deutschen Forschungsgemeinschoft (DFG) und ins Leben gerufen durch Betreiben der IUK Kommission der Fachgesellschaften existiert seit Frühjahr 1998. Dabei arbeiten sieben Gruppen an sechs verschiedenen Standorten in einem interdisziplinären Forschungsverbund zusammen: die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Erziehungswissenschaft (DgfE), die Deutsche Mathematiker-Vereinigung (DMV), die Deutsche Physikalische Gellschaft (DPG) die Gesellschaft deutscher Chemiker (GDCH), die Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek, die Deutsche Bibliothek (DDB) sowie das Rechenzentrum der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Das Projekt wird von Prof. Peter Diepold von der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin geleitet. Ziel des Projektes ist es, Vorschläge für die UmstelluT der Publikation von Dissertotionen vom Papier in das digitale Netz auszuarbeiten. Zu dem bisherigen Angebot von "Dissertationen Online" gehören Vorschläge zur organisatorischen Umsetzung, Informationen zu rechtlichen Grundlagen und zur Änderung der Promotionsordnung, Empfehlungen zu Textformaten, Unterstützung für die Erhebung der Metadaten, und die Bereitstellung von Schulungsmaterialien. In 4 Fortsetzungsartikeln soll auf die einzelnen Teilprojekte und deren inhaltliche Aspekte eingegangen werden. - Abstract
- In diesem Papier soll die Rolle des FIZ Karlsruhe auf dem Gebiet des elektronischen Publizierens dartgestellt werden. Die Produktion von wissenschaftlich-technischen Datenbanken wird weitergeführt und der Online-Service STN International soll weiter ausgebaut werden. In Ergänzung hierzu werden Kooperationen mit Bibliotheken und Verlagen vereinbart, um eine umfassende Volltextversorgung für Literatur und Patente sicherzustellen. Zusätzlich wird ein Konzept für einen Electronic Information and Publishing Service erarbeitet, das folgende Komponenten umfaßt: (i) eine Volltextarchivierung der Originalmanuskripte in unveränderlicher Form, (ii) ein Online-Angebot der Volltexte und (iii) einen Editorial-Service zur Unterstützung der Verlage beim elektronischen Publizieren

- Abstract
- In einer Feldstudie wurden 74 Personen über ihre Nutzungserfahrungen in bezug auf eine elektronische oder eine gedruckte Projektkurzdarstellung befragt. Es zeigte sich u.a., daß die elektronische Fassung im Vergleich zur gedruckten deutlich länger genutzt wurde, aber auch unsystematischer. Die jeweilige Medienvariante beeinflußte nur unwesentlich die Fähigkeit, die Inhalte richtig zu reproduzieren. Damit konnte die weit verbreitete These von der generell höheren Leistungsfähigkeit elektronischer Informationssysteme, insbes. Hypertext, nicht bestätigt werden. Empirische, medienvergleichende Studien dieser Art sind noch relativ selten und ihre Ergebnisse sind sehr uneinheitlich. Es werden abschließend einige methodische Schwierigkeiten solcher Studien diskutiert
