- Abstract
- Der Umstieg der deutschsprachigen Länder auf den neuen Katalogisierungsstandard RDA wirft die Frage auf, wie mit den gemäß RAK erschlossenen Altdaten umgegangen werden soll. Der vorliegende Beitrag untersucht aus datentechnischer Sicht, ob bzw. inwieweit RAK-Katalogisate (Titel- und Normdatensätze) mit maschinellen Mitteln auf RDA angehoben werden könnten. Beispielhaft betrachtet werden dabei u. a. die zu übertragenden Elemente in der bibliografischen Beschreibung, der Inhaltstyp sowie die Aufspaltung in getrennte bibliografische Identitäten im Fall von Pseudonymen. Es wird gezeigt, dass RDA-Upgrades möglich, aber hochkomplex sind.

- Abstract
- Der Beitrag beschreibt die dynamische Entwicklung des Katalogisierungsregelwerks "Resource Description and Access" (RDA) und die weitreichenden Konsequenzen, die sich daraus für den deutschsprachigen Raum ergeben. Seit seinem ersten Erscheinen im Jahr 2010 hat sich RDA erheblich verändert. Größere Regeländerungen wurden bisher einmal jährlich in den Standard eingearbeitet, kleinere sogar viermal jährlich. Im Rahmen des 3R-Projekts (RDA Toolkit Restructure and Redesign Project) erfolgt derzeit eine umfassende Umstrukturierung und Neugestaltung des Regelwerkstextes. Auch danach ist nicht mit einem merklichen Nachlassen der Dynamik zu rechnen. Jede Änderung am Standard muss verarbeitet und für die D-A-CH-Länder aufbereitet werden. Der Aufwand dafür ist hoch: Vielfach müssen Anwendungsregeln angepasst werden, und neben der deutschen Übersetzung sind zahlreiche weitere Dokumente zu aktualisieren. Teilweise wirken sich Änderungen auch auf die Implementierung aus. Schließlich müssen alle Neuerungen umfassend kommuniziert werden. Zur Unterstützung der komplexen Prozesse werden professionelle und mächtige Werkzeuge benötigt. Noch wichtiger ist es jedoch, ein Bewusstsein dafür zu schaffen, dass für die Arbeiten dauerhaft ausreichende Personalressourcen bereitgestellt werden müssen. Denn nur der Umstieg auf RDA ist abgeschlossen - die kontinuierliche Arbeit am Regelwerk geht weiter.

- Abstract
- Der Bibliotheksverbund NEBIS (Netzwerk von Bibliotheken und Informationsstellen in der Schweiz) ist der grösste Verbund wissenschaftlicher Bibliotheken der Schweiz. Ihm gehören rund 140 Bibliotheken an 154 Standorten aus allen Landesteilen der Schweiz an. Im NEBIS arbeiten Bibliotheken sowohl aus der Deutschschweiz als auch aus den Französisch und Italienisch sprechenden Landesteilen. Der Anteil der nicht-deutschsprachigen Bibliotheken beträgt im NEBIS über 15 Prozent. Auf den Jahresbeginn 2016 hat der NEBIS-Verbund das bisher verwendete Regelwerk KIDS (Katalogisierungsregeln des IDS) durch das internationale Regelwerk RDA sowie die hauseigene Normdatenbank durch die deutschorientierte Normdatenbank GND abgelöst. Der Zustand der französischsprachigen Übersetzung der RDA sowie die Übersetzung der Anwendungsregeln des D-A-CH Raumes waren eine der grössten Herausforderungen bei der Einführung im Verbund. In einer mehrsprachigen Umgebung mit einer monolingualen Datenbank wie der GND zu arbeiten, bedeutete besonders für die französischsprachigen Bibliotheken viel Umstellung und Flexibilität. Die Arbeit mit deutschen Begriffen wie zum Beispiel die Berufsbegriffe in der GND erfordert sowohl von der NEBIS-Verbundzentrale wie auch von den französischsprachigen Bibliotheken einen ausserordentlichen Effort. Der NEBIS-Verbund wird auch künftig darauf angewiesen sein, dass die französische Übersetzung der RDA sowie die Übersetzung der Anwendungsregeln möglichst aktuell bleibt. Zudem wird auch im Bereich GND weiterhin eine flexible und geduldige Arbeitsweise aller Beteiligten erforderlich sein.

- Abstract
- Die Expertengruppe MAB-Ausschuss (seit 2005: Expertengruppe Datenformate) hat sich im Verlauf des Jahres 2004 mit den FRBR und ihren Bezügen zum MABFormat befasst. Es wurde eine Tabelle FRBR => MAB erstellt (veröffentlicht unter http://www.ddb.de/professionell/pdf/frbr_mab.pdf), wichtige Ergebnisse wurden im Artikel "Maschinelles Austauschformat für Bibliotheken und die Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records : Oder: Wieviel FRBR verträgt MAB?" im "Bibliotheksdienst" 39 (2005), Heft 10 zusammengefasst. Ergänzend dazu wurde bei der Arbeitsstelle Datenformate Der Deutschen Bibliothek versucht, MAB-Daten zu "frbrisieren", d. h. einzelne MAB-Datensätze in die vier Entitäten der Gruppe 1 (work / expression / manifestation / item) zu differenzieren. Ziel war nicht, einen fertigen OPAC-Baustein für die Indexierung, Benutzerführung oder Präsentation zu erstellen. Ziel war vielmehr, anhand von konkreten, in MAB strukturierten Daten die Schichten sichtbar zu machen. Ausgewählt für diesen Zweck wurde BISMAS, das "Bibliographische Informations-System zur Maschinellen Ausgabe und Suche" des BIS Oldenburg (www.bismas.de). In BISMAS ist es mit relativ geringem Aufwand möglich, die Präsentation eines Satzes - basierend auf der intern vorliegenden Datensatzstruktur, z.B. MAB - frei zu definieren. Die Gestaltung der Indices und der Ausgabeformate erfolgt in BISMAS mit Hilfe der Programmiersprache LM. Die Ergebnisse sollen hier anhand von Beispielen dargestellt werden.
