    Abstract
    Erfahrungen bei der Einführung von Wissensmanagement zeigen, dass eine ganzheitliche Herangehensweise erforderlich ist. Ausgehend von der Darstellung eines Vorgehensmodells zum Wissensmanagement betrachtet der Artikel speziell das Thema Klassifikation von Informations- und Wissensbeständen. Die Verfügbarkeit einer sinnvollen Klassifikation hat entscheidenden Einfluss auf die Akzeptanz und optimale Nutzung des technisch realisierten Wissensmanagements. Sie bietet den Vorteil, dass die Nutzer des Systems eine gemeinsame Sprache bzw. Semantik zur Beschreibung der Wissensinhalte verwenden und somit gleiche Inhalte auch gleich bezeichnen

    Abstract
    Die komplexen und dynamischen Rahmenbedingungen der globalen Wirtschaft stellen heutige Unternehmen vor gänzlich neue Herausforderungen. Der Rohstoff Wissen nimmt entscheidend an Bedeutung zu. Nicht nur in der Form, dass der Wert der Unternehmen stark von Ihrer fachspezifischen Expertise abhängt, sondern umso mehr von der Fähigkeit, aus verschiedensten Fachkompetenzen erfolgreiche Produkte und Dienstleistungen zu generieren. Dies erfordert ein aktives Management der Ressource Wissen in der Form eines grundlegenden Verständnisses der den jeweiligen Fachdomänen und Prozessen übergeordneten Zusammenhänge. Nur mittels des relevanten Metawissens über diverse Einflussfaktoren wie Marktmechanismen, rechtliche Rahmenbedingungen oder auch Organisationsstrukturen lassen sich die einzelnen "Organe" moderner vernetzter Organisationen wirtschaftlich erfolgreich orchestrieren. IT-Lösungen. die auf semantischen Modellen beruhen, helfen dieses Metawissen zu sichern und effektiv im Kontext konkreter Prozesse und Ziele zu nutzen. Semantik hilft dabei, die extrem hohe Vernetzung, die als Merkmal von Komplexität sowohl auf der Ebene von Informationen wie auch in der tatsächlichen Organisation von Unternehmen auftritt, transparent zu machen. Ein semantischer Ansatz ist dabei immer mit einem gesteigerten Qualitätsdenken auf Ebene von Informationen verbunden. Dies allerdings erfordert von den Unternehmen nicht nur ein explizites "semantisches" Denken und Handeln, sondern eröffnet wichtige Gestaltungsfelder im Bereich der Aufbauorganisation und dem Rollenverständnis einzelner Organisationsbereiche.
