- Abstract
- Unser Wirtschaftssystem wandelt sich zu einer global ausgerichteten Netzwerkökonomie. Unternehmen aller Branchen und Größenordnungen stellen sich die Herausforderung, aber auch die Chance, in neuen Marktstrukturen erfolgreich zu sein. Eine organisierte betriebliche Informationswirtschaft kann wesentlich zum Erfolg des Unternehmens beitragen. Es sind im Wesentlichen vier Aufgabenfelder, die das Informationsmanagement ausmachen. Darüber hinaus gilt es, eine Informations-Infrastruktur im Unternehmen aufzubauen.

- Abstract
- Die Forderungen nach einer neuen Informationsinfrastruktur bzw, einem integrierten Informationsmanagement an den Hochschulen sind nicht originell, gewinnen aber unter dem Eindruck u.a. der Empfehlungen des Wissenschaftsrats zur digitalen Informationsversorgung durch Hochschulbibliotheken sowie ähnlicher Initiativen (DINI, DFG usw.) an Bedeutung. Es geht dabei bekanntlich um den Verbund von Rechenzentrum, Bibliothek, Medienzentrum sowie den Informationseinrichtungen der Fachbereiche. Auch von publizistischer und von informationswissenschaftlicher Seite wird eine Reform des Informationssystems an den Hochschulen gefordert teilweise allerdings mit unsachlichen und verzerrenden Argumenten, was die Funktion der Bibliothek und die Rolle der Bibliothekare betrifft. Diesen wird nur bedingt zugetraut im Kontext einer neuen Informationsstruktur als Informations- und Wissensmanager zu agieren. Der vorliegende Beitrag versteht sich insofern als "aufklärerisch" und versucht, aus der praktischen Sicht einer Universitätsbibliothek Zerrbilder über "die" Bibliothek und "die" Bibliothekare zu korrigieren, darüber hinaus Gedanken zum bibliothekarischen Wissensmanagement der Zukunft zu entwickeln.

Diesen Fragen stellten sich insgesamt 22 Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare in Münster und Köln während zweier Fortbildungsveranstaltungen des HBZ im Juni 2003. Ziel der jeweils zweitägigen Workshops, die in Zusammenarbeit mit der Adhoc-Arbeitsgruppe "Informationskompetenz" der AG der Universitätsbibliotheken im VBNW konzipiert wurden, waren Konzepte und erste Schritte zur Umsetzung von elektronischen Angeboten zur Vermittlung von Bibliotheksbzw. Informationskompetenz. Dem voraus ging die konstruktive Bewertung von bereits existierenden Materialien, die zum einen von den Teilnehmern aus ihren Bibliotheken mitgebracht wurden, zum anderen über Bibliotheks-Homepages abrufbar waren. Die Teilnehmer, die in ihren Bibliotheken bereits Benutzerschulungen konzipieren und durchführen, beschäftigten sich dabei in Gruppen u.a. mit den Themen - Virtuelle Rundgänge, - Online-Tutorials - Bibliothekseinführungen für Schüler und Erstsemester - Präsentationen von Online-Katalog und Methoden zur Literatursuche. Im Folgenden werden einige wesentliche und manchmal durchaus kontrovers diskutierte Ergebnisse und Thesen wiedergegeben, die sich aus der Arbeit der Teilnehmer ergeben haben. Sie erheben keinen Anspruch auf Ausgewogenheit oder Vollständigkeit, können aber als Anregungen und Diskussionsgrundlage für zukünftige Projekte dienen.
