Abstract

Die DFG-Empfehlungen zur Weiterentwicklung der überregionalen Literaturversorgung greifen bedeutende Veränderungen der politischen Verhältnisse sowie des Publikations- und Informationswesens auf. Die zentrale politische Veränderung, der es zu entsprechn gilt, sind die aus der Vereinigung der beiden deutschen Staaten resultierenden neuen Bedarfsanforderungen, die sich auch für den Wissenschafts- und Bibliotheksbereich ergeben und eine entsprechen Ressourcenverteilung notwendig machen. Es gilt, das bisher auf die Bibliotheken der alten Länder gestützte System der überregionalen Literaturversorgung auch auf wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken der neuen Länder auszudehnen und dieses System als Gemeinschaftsaufgabe der alten und neuen Länder weiterzuentwickeln. Weitere wichtige Veränderungen, die das System der überregionalen Litearturversorgung berücksichtigen soll, resultiren aus dem schnellen Wandel der Informationstechnik, der neue Kommunikations- und Publikationsformen mit sich bringt und sich unmittelbar auf die Literatur- und Informationsversorgung auswirkt. Für das System der überregionalen Literaturversorgung ergeben sich daraus neue Anforderungen und Dienstleistungen
