    Abstract
    In der Alltagssprache der Neunziger wird Design auf Luxus reduziert, der überdies so teuer wie unpraktisch daherkommt. Der Autor, Professor für Interface-Design, versteht Design als effektives Handeln. Design widmet sich der Interaktion von Benutzer und Artefakt - ob nun Gegenstand oder Software. Und Interface, im sinne der Benutzerschnittstelle, darf als zentrale Kategorie des Design und damit der Lebensgestaltung verstanden werden - in Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Kultur
