Abstract

Zum diesjährigen Bibliothekartag lag die gewohnte Neuauflage der 'Informationen' nur als 'Baustelle' in Papierform vor. Allen Interessenten wurden auf das künftige Angebot im Netz hingewiesen. Nun ist es soweit: Die 7. Aufl. liegt im Netz und bietet wieder aktuelle Zahlen, Daten und Fakten (Stand: 31.12.97). Neu ist die Darstellung des KOBV (Kooperativer Bibliotheksverbund Berlin-Brandenburg) und die Beschreibung der überregionalen Verbunddienstleistung GKD. Auf die Bibliographie ist verzichtet worden

Abstract

Im Internet steht inzwischen eine enorme und ständig wachsende Menge von Dokumenten zur Verfügung. Es wird daher auch für wissenschaftliche Informationssuchende neben traditionellen Printveröffentlichungen zu einer wichtigen Informationsquelle. Im Gegensatz zur relativ geordneten Welt der gedruckten Publikationen ist es jedoch schwierig, gezielt Informationen im Internet zu finden. Ursachen dafür sind neben sehr unterschiedlicher Qualität und Zielsetzung auch Charakteristika von Internetdokumenten, wie z.B. die Darstellung als offener, verteilter Hypertext oder ihre leichte Veränderbarkeit. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird untersucht, inwieweit die gegenwärtigen Suchdienste für das WWW Anforderungen an die wissenschaftliche Informationssuche entsprechen. Dazu wird ein Überblick über die Arbeitsweisen sowie generelle Stärken und Schwächen verschiedener Typen von Suchdiensten (roboterbasierte, manuell erstellt sowie simultane) gegeben

Abstract

Vor fünf Jahren erschien die erste zusammenfassende Darstellung über bibliothekarische Datenformate von Bernhard Eversberg. Sie war bereits nach kurzer Zeit vergriffen. Die Überarbeitung dieses Büchleins hat zwar länger gedauert als geplant, führte jedoch zu einem respektablen Handbuch, das nun auch die aktuellen Pica-Formate voll einbezieht. Mit dem Abschnitt "Konkordanz der Formate" wurde ein wichtiges und in seiner Art einmaliges Nachschlagewerk geschaffen, das die Behandlung von mehr als 370 Begriffen in den einzelnen Formaten darstellt.
