    Abstract

    Abstract
The Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris - the interactive museum for science and technology which opened to the public in 1986 hosts a multimedia library holding some 330,000 documents. The small collection of CD-ROMs integrated into the library's collection since the end of 1991 (''Public section'' and the "Didacthèque") have been expanded in October 1996. Presently more than 800 titles are available for viewing on site or for circulation. After the brief background of CD-ROM installation and collections in French public libraries this paper discusses the problems of describing CD-ROMs in the online catalog. It mostly concentrates on the collection for circulation. The rules of bibliographic description correspond to the draft of the French national standard, which follows the ISBD(ER) principles. The format used for cataloguing in the library is UNIMARC and the automated system - GEAC GLIS. Cataloguing has been done locally since the national bibliographic description of electronic documents was not available at the time when the first collection was constituted. Since April 1997 the "Bibliographie nationale française" on CD-ROM provides the description for electronic documents whose downloading is now possible. This paper analyses the benefits of downloading of bibliographic records for ER and concludes that some local adaptation (updating) is necessary for satisfying end user needs

    Abstract
The Bibliothèque Nationale acquires about 45,000 non-French documents in roman script annually; these are cataloged online in the BN-OPALE database. A MARC format, INTERMARC, is used. Standards and format are consistent with international standards (ISBD, AACRZ, UNIMARC) so that conversion and loading of records from a CD-ROM network and from RLIN can be done without difficulty. In 1995 the Bibliothèque Nationale will become the Bibliothèque de France, housing in a new building books, periodicals, and audiovisual and electronic materials; Ule old building will maintain all other items (manuscripts, maps, engravings, coins, printed music, and materials on the prfomung arts). Then another computerized system wilh new abilities will replace the present one; Concerning cataloging, for example, there will be a project for linking bibliographic records to scanned summaries of books and to scanned documents.

    Abstract
In June 1995 the ABEI (Italian Catholic Librarians Association) established a working group in order to create an authority list of Catholic authors, (persons and corporate bodies) and of liturgical and religious anonymous works, titled ACOLIT, Autori Cattolici e Opere Liturgiche in Italiano (Catholic Authors and Liturgical Works in Italian). ACOLIT contains: (1) personal authors (particularly of the apostolic period and the Middle Ages); (2) popes and antipopes; (3) religious congregations, orders and societies; (4) Catholic Church and Roman Curia; (5) Catholic associations; (6) the Bible; (7) liturgical works; (8) religious anonymous works. Headings are established according to the RICA (Regole Italiane di Catalogazione per Autori), but also to the Norme per il catalogo degli stampati by the Vatican Library, the AACR2R, the RAK, the Reglas de catalogaci = F3n. Ed. refundita y rev., and the guidelines and decisions of IFLA. The work group has elaborated original considerations, particularly for the Bible. The group argues the choice and forth of the names of popes, Catholic Church and Roman Curia of the RICA and suggests that classical and Medieval writers should be formulated in Italian not in Latin, and that the indirect form, surname-name, should be used for saints who have a surname. ACOLIT has accepted the GARE punctuation (Guidelines for authority and reference entries/ recommended by the Working Group on an International Authority System; approved by the Standing Committees of the IFLA Section on Cataloguing and the IFLA Section on Information Technology). The print edition is planned for June 1997. ACOLIT will present headings in three sections: (1) Personal writers; (2) Corporate bodies; (1) Bible Liturgical and religious anonymous works, ABEI will also publish an electronic edition (CD ROM), periodically revised. The research will extend to Christian writers and -in the future- to writers of all religions.

    Abstract
In this article, we present a method to automatically build large labeled datasets for the author ambiguity problem in the academic world by leveraging the authoritative academic resources, ORCID and DOI. Using the method, we built LAGOS-AND, two large, gold-standard sub-datasets for author name disambiguation (AND), of which LAGOS-AND-BLOCK is created for clustering-based AND research and LAGOS-AND-PAIRWISE is created for classification-based AND research. Our LAGOS-AND datasets are substantially different from the existing ones. The initial versions of the datasets (v1.0, released in February 2021) include 7.5 M citations authored by 798 K unique authors (LAGOS-AND-BLOCK) and close to 1 M instances (LAGOS-AND-PAIRWISE). And both datasets show close similarities to the whole Microsoft Academic Graph (MAG) across validations of six facets. In building the datasets, we reveal the variation degrees of last names in three literature databases, PubMed, MAG, and Semantic Scholar, by comparing author names hosted to the authors' official last names shown on the ORCID pages. Furthermore, we evaluate several baseline disambiguation methods as well as the MAG's author IDs system on our datasets, and the evaluation helps identify several interesting findings. We hope the datasets and findings will bring new insights for future studies. The code and datasets are publicly available.
