    Abstract
The FR family of conceptual models has grown to include three separate models prepared independently over many years by different working groups: FRBR for bibliographic data, FRAD for authority data, and FRSAD for subject authority data. Even as FRAD and FRSAD were being finalized in 2009-2010, it became clear that it would be necessary to combine or consolidate the FR family into a single coherent model to clarify the understanding of the overall model and remove barriers to its adoption. The FRBR Review Group has been working towards this since 2011, constituting a Consolidation Editorial Group in 2013. The consolidation task involves not only spelling out how the three existing models fit together, but requires taking a fresh look at the models to incorporate insights gained since their initial publications. This paper, based directly on the work of the Consolidation Editorial Group, provides the first public report of the consolidated model, tentatively referred to as the FRBR-Library Reference Model (FRBR-LRM), and the guiding principles that have been applied in its development.

Paper presented at: IFLA WLIC 2015 - Cape Town, South Africa in Session 207 - Cataloguing.

    Abstract
This book addresses RDA along with traditional examples of cataloguing like MARC, MODS, and Dublin Core. Streaming video, Internet sites, dual-disc DVDs, blogs and listservs are just some of the rapidly emerging, and often complicated, new resources covered in this current, easy-to-follow manual. Separate chapters are dedicated to each non-print and e-resource format, and include corresponding examples to help demonstrate practical implementation of these critical new skills. A companion CD-ROM contains fully-worked out examples, models and illustrations, and acts as an important visual guide to help reinforce key concepts. In addition, a companion website provides updates on changes in RDA and other cataloguing resources and practices; links to presentations, blog posts, etc; and a means to contact the authors with questions and feedback.

    Abstract
The persistent identification of authors and contributors plays a decisive role within the Open Science landscape. The increasing number of published research products and new open publishing models and infrastructures requires author identification which goes beyond fields or infrastructures and guarantees interoperability. ORCID iD is presented as a persistent identifier for researchers in this context. As information managers and organisers, many academic libraries have taken the lead in offering ORCID-related services and implementing it in their systems. This paper scans the implementation models across Europe and the actions carried out by libraries. Finally, it also depicts perspectives for integration in the Austrian library and research context.

    Abstract

    Abstract
RDA has always been a continually evolving standard that aims to reflect the requirements of the cataloguing community. Simon Edwards will highlight the steps towards a further internationalisation and exploration of wider cultural heritage description communities. Gordon Dunsire will point out the potential implementations of RDA data in various database structures and describes the possibilities for further work with RDA and linked data scenarios in international communities. The third part of the article reflects the experience of the British Library in applying RDA in the last years. Alan Danskin gives an overview of the transition period from the project organization until training.

    Abstract
An overview of the field of information organization that examines resource description as both a product and process of the contemporary digital environment. This timely book employs the unifying mechanism of the semantic web and the resource description framework to integrate the various traditions and practices of information and knowledge organization. Uniquely, it covers both the domain-specific traditions and practices and the practices of the 'metadata movement' through a single lens - that of resource description in the broadest, semantic web sense. This approach more readily accommodates coverage of the new Resource Description and Access (RDA) standard, which aims to move library cataloguing into the centre of the semantic web. The work surrounding RDA looks set to revolutionise the field of information organization, and this book will bring both the standard and its model and concepts into focus.

    Abstract
This paper discusses the use of OCLC's Connexion service (formerly CORC) by the Centre for Digital Library Research at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland. The Centre has completed, and is currently engaged in, a number of research projects involving the application of Dublin Core and MARC21 in creating metadata for digital resources; these include projects an the Glasgow Digital Library, East Dunbartonshire local history, and a pilot Scottish Cultural Portal. The Connexion service provides a MARC21-DC converter, and the Centre has been investigating its incorporation in workflows for creating and maintaining digital libraries. This has included the use of databases to store metadata, with subsequent output to Dublin Core and conversion to MARC21.
