- The workshop aimed to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners from a variety of backgrounds to discuss the many facets of hypermedia design. - Discussions and presentations dealt with attempts to clarify the different concepts in multimedia, object-oriented methods for multimedia, multimedia from psychological perspectives, synchronization problems in multimedia, ccoperative work using multimedia, multimedia interface builders, and so on. There was also a small exhibition presenting 4 different systems ranging from commercial products to research prototypes. The book is divided into 8 parts, on fundamentals, interaction, synchronization, demonstration presentations, cooperative work, information systems, multimedia systems and conclusions
