- Abstract
- Die schnelle Entwicklung der Internet- und Web-Technologie verändert den Stand der Technik in der Kommunikation von Wissen oder Forschungsergebnissen. Insbesondere werden semantische Technologien, verknüpfte und offene Daten zu entscheidenden Faktoren für einen erfolgreichen und effizienten Forschungsfortschritt. Zuerst definiere ich den Research Data Service (RDS) und diskutiere typische aktuelle und mögliche zukünftige Nutzungsszenarien mit RDS. Darüber hinaus bespreche ich den Stand der Technik in den Bereichen semantische Dienstleistung und Datenanmerkung und API-Konstruktion sowie infrastrukturelle Lösungen, die für die RDS-Realisierung anwendbar sind. Zum Schluss werden noch innovative Methoden der Online-Verbreitung, Förderung und effizienten Kommunikation der Forschung diskutiert.

- Abstract
- Data is everywhere - praktisch bei allen wissenschaftlichen, staatlichen, gesellschaftlichen und wirtschaftlichen Aktivitäten entstehen sie. Die Daten werden erzeugt durch Befragungen, mobile und eingebettete Systeme, Sensoren, Beobachtungssysteme, wissenschaftliche Instrumente, Publikationen, Experimente, Simulationen, Auswertungen und Analysen. Bürger, Wissenschaftler, Forschende und Lehrende kommunizieren durch den Austausch von Daten, Software, Veröffentlichungen, Berichte, Simulationen und Visualisierungen. Darüber hinaus führen die zunehmende Nutzung der visuellen Kommunikation für Unterhaltung und zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen sowie die rasche Zunahme der sozialen Netzwerke zu riesigen Datenmengen. Daten von Observatorien, Experimenten und Umweltüberwachung sowie aus der Genforschung und dem Gesundheitswesen generieren eine Größenordnung von Daten alle zwei Jahre, die weit über das Mooresche Gesetz hinausgeht - und dabei ist noch kein Ende in Sicht. Wissenschaftliche Publikationen sind Datengrundlage für die weitere wissenschaftliche Arbeit und Publikationen.

- Abstract
- On a scientific concept hierarchy, a parent concept may have a few attributes, each of which has multiple values being a group of child concepts. We call these attributes facets: classification has a few facets such as application (e.g., face recognition), model (e.g., svm, knn), and metric (e.g., precision). In this work, we aim at building faceted concept hierarchies from scientific literature. Hierarchy construction methods heavily rely on hypernym detection, however, the faceted relations are parent-to-child links but the hypernym relation is a multi-hop, i.e., ancestor-to-descendent link with a specific facet "type-of". We use information extraction techniques to find synonyms, sibling concepts, and ancestor-descendent relations from a data science corpus. And we propose a hierarchy growth algorithm to infer the parent-child links from the three types of relationships. It resolves conflicts by maintaining the acyclic structure of a hierarchy.

- Abstract
- Purpose - This paper seeks to organize the extensive field and to compile the complete list of information limits. Design/methodology/approach - A thorough analysis of literature from the field beginning with the 1960s up to the present has been performed. Findings - A universal typology of information limits has been proposed. A list of barriers mentioned in the literature of the subject has been compiled. Research limitations/implications - The term "information limits" is not commonly used. Originality/value - The complete list of information limits with bibliographical hints (helpful for future research) is presented.

- Abstract
- Marketing professionals' work activities are heavily reliant on access to and the use of large amounts of quality information. This study aims to examine the information journey experienced by marketing professionals, including task-driven information seeking, information judgments, information use, and information sharing, from a more contextualized and holistic viewpoint. The information journey presents a more comprehensive picture of user-information interaction than is usually offered in the literature. Using a diary method and post-diary in-depth interviews, data consisting of 1,198 diary entries relating to 101 real work tasks were collected over a period of 5 work days. The data were used to ascertain characteristics of the stages of marketing professionals' information journeys as well as the relationships between them. Five stages of the information journey, including determining the need for work task-generated information, seeking such information, judging and evaluating the information found, making sense of and using the obtained information, and sharing the obtained or assembled information, were identified. The information journey also encompassed types of gaps and gap-bridge techniques that occurred during information seeking and use. Based on the empirical findings, an information journey model was developed. The implications for information systems design solutions that enable different stages of the information journey to be linked together are also discussed.
