- Informationsangebote im Internet sind immer häufiger nicht nur Referenzinformationen, sondern Textinformationen. Somit ist es die von den Interessenten gewünschte Information selbst, die als Textpublikation oder als Ausschnitt aus einer solchen Publikation mit den entsprechenden Retrieval- und Anzeigeinstrumenten direkt bereitgestellt wird. Diese Texte haben ganz unterschiedliche Entstehungszusammenhänge. Sie werden z.B. speziell und gezielt als Internet-Informationsangebote neu erstellt. als wissenschaftliche Publikationen im Interesse leichter und schneller Verbreitung in Form von Preprints oder Parallelpublikationen über das Netz bereitgestellt oder als elektronische Reprints wissenschaftlich Interessierten erneut und in neuer Form zur Verfügung gestellt. - Abstract
- Das Projekt "Dissertationen Online" finanziert von der deutschen Forschungsgemeinschoft (DFG) und ins Leben gerufen durch Betreiben der IUK Kommission der Fachgesellschaften existiert seit Frühjahr 1998. Dabei arbeiten sieben Gruppen an sechs verschiedenen Standorten in einem interdisziplinären Forschungsverbund zusammen: die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Erziehungswissenschaft (DgfE), die Deutsche Mathematiker-Vereinigung (DMV), die Deutsche Physikalische Gellschaft (DPG) die Gesellschaft deutscher Chemiker (GDCH), die Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek, die Deutsche Bibliothek (DDB) sowie das Rechenzentrum der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Das Projekt wird von Prof. Peter Diepold von der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin geleitet. Ziel des Projektes ist es, Vorschläge für die UmstelluT der Publikation von Dissertotionen vom Papier in das digitale Netz auszuarbeiten. Zu dem bisherigen Angebot von "Dissertationen Online" gehören Vorschläge zur organisatorischen Umsetzung, Informationen zu rechtlichen Grundlagen und zur Änderung der Promotionsordnung, Empfehlungen zu Textformaten, Unterstützung für die Erhebung der Metadaten, und die Bereitstellung von Schulungsmaterialien. In 4 Fortsetzungsartikeln soll auf die einzelnen Teilprojekte und deren inhaltliche Aspekte eingegangen werden. - Abstract
- Schon seit über 12 Jahren setzt sich die wissenschaftliche Verlagsgruppe Springer mit den sich ständig weiterentwickelnden und effektiveren Wegen und Möglichkeiten der elektronische Informationsverarbeitung auseinander - zunächst primär mit Offline-Produkten, dann auch immer stärker im Online-bereich. 1995 erschien die erste von zwischenzeitlich 10 rein elektronischen Zeitschriften. Seit Anfang 1997 gibt es LINK - den Springer Online Informationsservice, in dem derzeit bereits mehr als 290 der mehr als 400 Springer-Zeitschriften als Volltext online verfügbar sind. LINK bietet gezielte Recherchen in den aufgelegten Informationen: Blättern in den Inhaltsverzeichnissen, differenzierte Suchfunktionalitäten, FAQ-Seiten, Testabos und vieles andere mehr runden das LINK-Servicepaket ab. Neu in LINK ist 'Online First' zur Publikation freigegebene Artikel werden lange noch vor ihrem Erscheinen in der gedruckten Zeitschrift online publiziert. Der LINK-Vorabservice LINK alert bietet allen LINK-Nutzern kostenlos die Möglichkeit, sich per Mailingliste die bibliographischen Angaben und Hyperlinks zu den Abstracts der Artikel zuschicken zu lassen, wenn von einer Zeitschrift z.B. ein neues Heft erschienen ist. - Abstract
- Ein Grundproblem der rechnergestützten Erstellung, Bearbeitung und Archivierung von Dokumenten ist die unzureichende Wiedergabe von Inhalt und Struktur durch die heute verbreiteten Dokumentformate und Seitenbeschreibungssprachen. Die Standard Generalized Markup Language löst dieses Problem druch die präzise und flexible Beschreibung der Struktur von Dokumenten. SGML ermöglicht dadurch die vielseitige Nutzung der in Dokumenten enthaltenen Information für elektronische Publikationen, Hypertext-Systeme, Online-Dokumente, aber auch für die klassischen Formen der Publikation in Buch, Zeitschrift und Loseblattwerk. Darüber hinaus dient der ISO-Standard SGML als Austauschformat in heterogenen DV-Umgebungen. Das Buch vermittelt sowohl die für die Entscheidungsträger notwendigen Informationen als auch das Basiswissen für den Entwickler. Es gibt einen praxisorientierten Einstieg in Vorteile und Anwendungsgebiete von SGML, behandelt anhand vieler Beispiele die verschiedenen Bestandteile von Dokument-Typ-Definitionen und gibt einen Überblick über die verfügbare SGML-Software.
