    Abstract
Broadsides and other single-sheet publications are important primary sources for the study of cultural, economic, political and social history that are only now being accorded the attention they deserve by historians and special collections librarians. Describes the cataloguing practices of the American Antiquarian Society in relation to these materials, and presents a consideration by MARC fields of the specifics for cataloguing 19th-century single-sheet publications

    Abstract
This presentation discusses the diversity of serials librarianship and argues that cataloging is a necessary foundation for all aspects of serials work. Library school education for serials librarians should provide a solid foundation in the basics and pave the way for career long continuing education both on-the-job and through more formal mechanisms.

    Abstract
Cataloguers should replace current notions of fixed standards with the concept of a floating standard for various aspects of bibliographic control. Currently they are trying to subscribe simultaneously to diverging norms of cataloguing and bibliographic control, working in 2 ways at once and serving opposite visions with the same output. Explains how this situation has come about and offers the possible solution of a floating bibliographic standard

    Abstract
Presents a view on the work of the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records Study Group on behalf of the Anglo-American cataloguing tradition. The study is examining the fundamental aspects of record design using the entity-attribute-relationship model to link data elements to the function that a user can perform while accessing a bibliographic record. The data and functions are being linked by UNIMARC fields
