    Abstract
    Über international verfügbare Informationssammlungen wie Datenbanken oder Volltextsammlungen der Bildungsforschung zu informieren und Nutzern die Möglichkeit zu bieten, deren Qualität selbst zu bewerten, ist Aufgabe des im März 2008 begonnenen Projekts "Educational Resources Clearinghouse". Dazu soll auf der Basis semantischer Wiki-Technologien ein Meta-Informationssystem für Bildungsinformationen entwickelt werden. Das Projekt "Educational Resources Clearinghouse" wird im Rahmen des Pakts für Forschung und Innovation 2008 (www.pakt-fuer-forschung.de/) der Leibniz-Gemeinschaft (www.wgl.de/ ?nid=wet&nidap) gefördert und hat eine Laufzeit von zwei Jahren. Formale und inhaltliche Kriterien wie Art der Information, thematische Ausrichtung, Zugangsbedingungen/-restriktionen oder die Sprache, in der die Informationssammlung vorliegt, bilden den Kern der Beschreibungen der im "Educational Resources Clearinghouse" zusammengestellten Informationen. Aber Nutzer sollen sich nicht nur ein zuverlässiges Bild über derartige Sammlungen machen können - das Clearinghouse soll ihnen insbesondere auch als Ausgangspunkt für die kollektive Diskussion und Weiterentwicklung des Informationsangebots dienen. Im Sinne des so genannten "Kollaborativen Tagging" können sie Qualitätskriterien selbst benennen und deren Relevanz beurteilen. Die qualitative Beurteilung erfolgt also in einem offenen lnformations- und Kommunikationsraum. Mithilfe von Semantic MediaWiki, einer Erweiterung der MediaWiki-Software, werden die Beschreibungen und Beurteilungen der Informationssammlungen zu semantischen Analysen genutzt. Ziel ist es, die Informationen zueinander in Beziehung zu setzen und damit automatisch neues Wissen zu generieren. Das Projekt wird begleitend evaluiert: Mithilfe von Befragungen und Usability-Tests sollen die Akzeptanz des Wikis und das Nutzerverhalten überprüft werden. Darüber hinaus wird die nutzerorientierte Taxonomie (Folksonomy) mit Thesauri im Bildungswesen verglichen.     Gleichwohl: Systematisch sind die heute üblichen Varianten internetgestützter Wissensverwaltung der enzyklopädischen Idee des i8. Jahrhunderts verhaftet. Denn alles Wissen, das für die Bedienung beliebiger einschließlich der aktuell noch nicht bekannten Informationsbedürfnisse relevant sein könnte, soll über jeweils einen themenzentrierten Ort abrufbar sein. Die Übertragung dieser Idee ins Internet produziert vier Probleme. Aus Sicht der Nutzer sind dies drei: Es entstehen erstens ein information overload, Unübersichtlichkeit und dadurch eine strukturell bedingte Entmündigung des Nutzers. Dies verbindet sich zweitens mit dem o.g. Problem, dass die Informationssysteme zu ihrer angemessenen Nutzung jeweils spezifisch qualifizierte Nutzer benötigen. Drittens wird der Kontakt zur Forschungsfront systematisch verfehlt. Aus Sicht der Finanziers stellt sich viertens die Frage nach der Finanzierbarkeit des - und zwar fortdauernd - nötigen Personalaufwands."

    Abstract
    Nach mehr als 4 Jahren Erfahrung in der kooperativen Erschließung von Internetquellen öffnet sich der Verbund Academic LinkShare für neue Partner aus den Geistes-, Regional- und Sozialwissenschaften. Academic LinkShare ist ein Netzwerk wissenschaftlicher Bibliotheken. Gemeinsam bauen sie einen interdisziplinären Datenpool fachlich relevanter Internetquellen auf, aus dem sich alle Partner gleichberechtigt bedienen können. Nach mehr als vier Jahren gemeinsamer Entwicklungs- und Erschließungsarbeit lässt sich der Erfolg des Modells heute quantifizieren. Seit der Aufnahme des ersten Datensatzes Mitte 2001 sind weit mehr als 20.000 Quellen aus dem politik-, rechts-, wirtschafts- und sozialwissenschaftlichen Umfeld dazugekommen. Sie werden präsentiert in den Fachinformationsführern (qualifizierten Linksammlungen) von ViFaPol (Politikwissenschaft - http://www.vifapol.de), EconBiz (Wirtschaftswissenschaften - http://www.econbiz.de) und ViFa Recht (Rechtswissenschaft - http://www.vifa-recht.de). Jüngstes Mitglied des Verbundes sind die Europäischen Dokumentationszentren mit ihrem Rechercheportal ArchiDok (http://archidok.uni-mannheim.de). Die Einsparpotentiale liegen vor allem im hohen Überschneidungsgrad der Quellen, der - ohne Volltexte - bei ca. 30% liegt. Die Schaffung einer gemeinsamen technischen Infrastruktur allein begründet noch nicht den Erfolg des Modells. Viel schwieriger als die Entwicklung eines Erfassungssystems ist der Aufbau eines funktionierenden Netzwerks wissenschaftlicher Einrichtungen und Bibliotheken, das sich nachhaltig für den Aufbau des Datenpools verantwortlich zeichnet. Vor dem Hintergrund überaus knapper Zeitressourcen hat Academic LinkShare technische und organisatorische Lösungen entwickelt, die den Voraussetzungen der Kooperationspartner gerecht werden. Dieses Win-Win-Prinzip zahlt sich aus. Neben den fünf Verbundpartnern von Academic LinkShare beteiligen sich heute mehr als 40 wissenschaftliche Einrichtungen an der Erschließung der Quellen. Das Interesse an dem Modell des Metadata Sharing ist beachtlich - der Kreis der Mitwirkenden wächst kontinuierlich an. Academic LinkShare bietet Interessenten aus dem sozial-, geistes- und regionalwissenschaftlichen Umfeld die Möglichkeit, dem Verbund beizutreten, und unterstützt sie dabei auf der Basis der vorhandenen technischen Lösungen beim Aufbau und Betrieb einer eigenen Virtuellen Fachbibliothek.
