    Abstract
    Der allgemeine Strukturwandel in Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft verändert in erheblichem Maße das Tätigkeitsfeld von Dokumentaren wir auch von Informationsmanagern. Während Informationsmanagement früher eine eher technikorientierte Tätigkjeit war, wird dieser Bereich in zunhemendem Maße inhaltlich bestimmt; somit ist Information ein Produktionsfaktor geworden. Vor allem in Bezug auf die Herausbildung der Wissensgesellschaft muß Information in zunehmendem Maße organisiert und gemanagt werden. Um diesen Anforderungen aus der Praxis zu genügen, muß auch die Ausbildung erheblich verändert werden

    Abstract
    In dem Maße, in dem Unternehmen ihren Erfolg in einem zunehmend von Konkurrenz geprägten Weltmarkt suchen, ist ds Content Management als Informationslösung interessant geworden. Content Management-Systeme können dabei helfen, die enormen betrieblichen Investitionen in die Information zu verringern. Wie bei jeder neuartigen Technologie bestehen auch hier noch keine klaren Vorstellungen darüber, was ContentnManagement eigentlich ausmacht. In diesem Beitrag werden die Probleme und Technologien im Zusammenhang mit dem Content Management untersucht und der aktuelle Stand in Sachen Content Management beschrieben. Content Management ist mehr als nur eine neue Technologie.     Sei es, daß in einem stark expandierenden Unternehmen ein neues Informationszentrum gegründet werden soll, sei es, daß im Rahmen der Rezession große Informations- und Dokumentationsabteilungen drastisch in ihrem Personalbestand eingeschränkt werden, sei es, daß neue Entwicklungsbereiche und -märkte die Nutzung anderer Informationsquellen erforderlich machen, die nicht zu den Standardwerkzeugen der IuD-Abteilungen gehören - in all diesen Fällen stellt sich die frage: wo erhalte ich außerhalb des Unternehmens schnell die kompetente Ergänzung, die die reibungslose Arbeit des Informationszentrums garantiert oder gar die Palette der angebotenen Dienstleistungen erweitert?

    Abstract
    Hohe Arbeitslosigkeit in den frühen 30er Jahren - und jetzt wieder seit Mitte der 80er Jahre: Sind Beschäftigungskrisen ein Wiederholungsphänomen? Ist der nachfolgende Aufschwung mit Vollbeschäftigung also gleichsam schon gewiß? 1926 beschrieb Nicolai Kondratieff ein Zyklusphänomen der Wirtschaft von 50-60 jähriger Dauer. In diesem Abstand haben seit Beginn des Industriezeitalters technologische Basisinnovationen der Wirtschaft zuerst neue Produkte und Märkte beschert und dann alle Produktions- und Wirtschaftsgebiete revolutioniert. Jahrzehnten allgemeinen Aufschwungs mit Vollbeschäftigung folgte eine Phase der Marktsättigung, Stagnation oder Rezession mit steigender Arbeitslosigkeit, bis eine neue Basisinnovation wieder eine solche 'Lange Welle' anstieß. Kann die Theorie der Langen Wellen zum besseren Verständnis des Strukturwandels beitragen? Hilft ihre praktische Anwendung, die Arbeitslosigkeit zu überwinden?     Abstract
    Library world is actually facing 2 major changes. The one described by the concept of the Digital or Virtual Library let us already anticipate fundamental changes in the products and services libraries will deliver in the future. At present libraries also must react to important economic changes with phenomena like privatisation, deregulation and globalisation of economic processes which - at least in Germany - have now a growing impact on the library and information business. This situation is a real challenge for library management. But unfortunately new management concepts are hardly found in library literature and practice in Germany. Therefore the article wants to give to the library world some ideas on new management and business concepts like the 'learning organisation' or the 'innovative collaborator'

    Abstract
    Der Begriff Information Management taucht in der Literatur schon seit etwa 10 Jahren auf. Über seine Umschreibung bzw. Definition herrscht heute noch Uneinigkeit, weil durch die rasche technische Entwicklung bedingt eine klare Festschreibung nicht möglich ist. Trotzdem zeigt der evolutionäre Ausbau der Informationsverarbeitung generell eine Tendenz hin zum Information Management. Denn die durch die stetige Weiterentwicklung der elektronische Mittel immer komplexer werdende Welt der Information und Kommunikation verlangt ein übergeordnetes Konzept zur Bewältigung der mannigfachen Anforderungen, die an die Aufbereitung und den Transport der Information gestellt werden. Der Autor hat versucht, aus dem Stoff von 11 willkürlich ausgewählten Arbeiten aus der einschlägigien Literatur ein Bild des Information Management zu zeichnen

    Abstract
    Die zukünftige Informationsverarbeitung integriert Personal Computer und die 'low cost' Workstationen in die moderne Rechnerwelt und übernimmt dabei universelle Aufgaben der Bürokommunikation - vom intelligenten Telefon über den Einsatz als Fax-Gerät, zur Abfrage externer Datenbanken und als Arbeitsplatzrechner in vielfältigen Anwendungen. Dabei werden alle Information in digitaler Form gespeichert und bearbeitet. Elektronische Archivierung und Vorgangsbearbeitung nehmen dabei eine Schlüsselstellung innerhalb der modernen Informationsverarbeitung ein und ermöglichen erhebliche Qualitäts-, Zeit- und Wettbewerbsgewinne. Das Angebotsspektrum ist vielfältiger und preislich günstiger geworden. Die elektronische Vorgangsbearbeitung und der Einsatz digitaler optischer Speicher ('optical filing' in Verbindung mit 'image processing'), wird damit auch für kleinere Unternehmen interessant. Die Spannweiter reicht heute von großen individuellen und unternehmensweiten Lösungen bis hin zum komfortablen Einzelplatzsystem. Die optische Speichertechnologie stellt dabei die Basis für die Behandlung und Verarbeitung großer Daten- und Informationsmengen dar
