- Abstract
- Die vorliegende Arbeit kritisiert den kürzlich veröffentlichten Entwurf eines Ethik-Kodex für Informationsvermittler unter verschiedenen Gesichtspunkten. Einmal das Verfahren: Die Gültigkeit eines Ethik-Kodex setzt einen Konsens voraus, der mittels eines diskursiven Verfahrens (Entwicklung, Diskussion, Überarbeitung, Verabschiedung) erzielt wurden. Für den Fall von Regelverletzungen müssen hierbei Sanktionen vorgesehen sein. Zum zweiten der Inhalt: Der vorliegende Entwurf verkürzt die ethische Gesamtproblematik auf den ökonomischen Aspekt und enthält darüber hinaus eine Fülle von Unklarheiten, Fehlern und Schludrigkeiten. Die Verfasser fordern fordern einen gedanklichen und verfahrensmäßigen Neuanfang, der sich etwa am Vorgehen der deutschen Soziologen orientieren könnte; dieses Verfahren wird beispielhaft in ausführlicher Weise beschrieben

- An awareness exists among Italian librarians of the need for an established code of ethics for library reference services. Considers the principles that such a code should incorporate; the US Commitment to Information services, for example, affirms users' rights of access to library books and resources, regardless of content and opinions expressed. Censoship is opposed and people are not barred from library use for ethnis, social or religious reasons. An ethical code would require library staff to be impartial, give attention and respect to users, allocate time properly, and avoid prejudice. - Abstract
- Die Folgen der technischen Entwicklung eröffnen nicht nur Chancen, sondern bergen auch wachsende Risiken in sich. Um die Chancen zu vergrößern und die Risiken zu verringern, werden gegenwärtig 2 verschiedene Konzepte diskutiert: das Konzept der ethischen Techniksteuerung (Berufsethik des Ingenieurs) und das Konzept der politischen Techniksteuerung (Technikfolgen-Abschätzung bzw. Technikbewertung). Beide Konzepte haben spezifische Schwächen. Einerseits wird die Verantwortungsfähigkeit der einzelnen durch zahlreiche theoretische und praktische Schwierigkeiten eingeschränkt, und andererseits verbleibt die politische Technikbewertung außerhalb der technischen Entwicklung und ist dadurch in ihren Einflußmöglichkeiten begrenzt. Es gilt daher, die Idee der Ingenieurethik und die Idee der Technikfolgen-Abschätzung zu einer Synthese konzertierter Techniksteuerung zusammenzuführen
