Abstract

"Medizin läuft immer", so der Titel eines Aufsatzes von Jochen Aumiller und dies in zweierlei Hinsicht. Zum einen erfreuen sich Beiträge zu den Themenbereichen Gesundheit und Medizin großer Beachtung bei den Rezipienten. Dies ist dadurch zu erklären, dass jeder Einzelne faktisch jederzeit betroffen sein kann. Zum Anderen gehen Themen in der Medizin nie aus. Egal wohin man schaut, ob in Tageszeitungen, Zeitschriften, Hörfunk oder Fernsehen, überall spielt die Medizin bei der Berichterstattung eine Rolle und ist in vielen Facetten präsent: egal ob Berichte über die Gesundheitsreform, ein Interview mit der Gesundheitsministerin, Aufdeckung von Dopingskandalen, die Erforschung und Entdeckung neuer Therapieformen, Krankheiten oder Krankheitserreger, alternative Behandlungsformen, Aufklärung über die Wirkung und Nebenwirkungen von Medikamenten, Tipps für die Gesundheit, Kranken- und Pflegeversicherung oder gar Krankheiten, von denen prominente Persönlichkeiten betroffen sind. Die Beispiele zeigen, dass die Thematisierung von Medizin und Gesundheit in den Medien in verschiedenen Formen und mit unterschiedlichen Intentionen stattfindet. Medizinische Themen belegen eine Spitzenposition auf der Beliebtheitsskala der Leser, daher finden sich Beiträge und Artikel der Journalisten zu Themen aus der Medizin und dem Gesundheitswesen nicht nur in Tages- und Wochenzeitungen, Nachrichtenmagazinen und Zeitschriften aller Art, sondern auch in den audiovisuellen Medien und nicht zuletzt im Internet wieder. Der Leser oder der Zuschauer kann aus einer großen Palette an Endprodukten der Wissenschaftsjournalisten wählen. Ein paar Beispiele: Pollen, Milben und Co. Allergisch? Das hilft!
