"BOND erweitert mit zwei Updates erneut den Funktionsumfang seiner etab lierten Bibliothekssoftware und passt diese an neue Trends und Kundenwünsche an. Mehr als 400 Anregungen von Anwendern wurden im BIBLIOTHECA2000-Update, Version 2.6 und dem Web-OPAC-Update, Version 2.3 umgesetzt. Mit den Updates ist die Software nun noch benutzerfreundlicher und stabiler. Folgende Verbesserungen wurden, neben vielen weiteren, in der neuen BIBLIOTHECA2000-Version 2.6 umgesetzt: Künftig können Mahnungen, Erinnerungen und Vormerkungen noch differenzierter per Brief oder E-Mail versendet werden. Eine Plausibilitätsprüfung bei der Erfassung der Mailadresse (muss ein "@-Zeichen" enthalten etc.) stellt sicher, dass die Nachrichten auch beim Empfänger ankommen. Unter bestimmten technischen Voraussetzungen können E-Mails nun auch über SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) verschickt werden. Der neue Hilfe-Assistent mit Such- und Indexfunktion findet noch besser aktuelle Lösungen und Antworten zu BIBLIOTHECA2000. In der Periodika-Verwaltung können Daten und Inhalte sowohl zu Aboaufnahmen als auch zu aktuellen Heften von Pressekatalog (www.pressekatalog.de) automa tisch übernommen werden. Leser können dadurch im (Web-)OPAC, recherchieren, ob z.B. in einer Ausgabe von Stiftung Warentest Digitalkameras getestet wurden. Auch das Web-OPAC-Update enthält wieder zahlreiche Erweiterungen. Ab sofort können BOND-Anwender zwischen drei Designs des Web-OPAC auswählen. Neben dem klassischen Design gibt es jetzt zwei weitere, neue Designs: Summertime-Orange und Freshblue. Das Design kann je nach Wunsch eingestellt werden. Die Hilfetexte im Web-OPAC wurden vollständig überarbeitet und ergänzt. Die speziell für die Bibliotheksnutzer konzipierten Hilfen machen die Recherche noch einfacher und verständlicher. Für die Recherche sind jetzt bis zu 99 Suchtipps einstellbar. Auf diese kann auch extern verlinkt werden, z.B. von der Homepage der Stadt. Für eine noch ansprechendere Detailanzeige können den Mediengruppen bis zu 99 Symbole zugeordnet und die Exemplare optisch gegeneinander abgegrenzt werden. Die im Leserkonto angezeigten Informationen sind frei wählbar. Individuell definierte Hinweistexte (z.B. zu potentiellen Gebühren o.ä.) können im Konto angezeigt werden. Alle auf ein Konto entliehenen Medien sind über einen Mausklick sofort und ohne Bestätigung verlängerbar. Für statistische Auswertungen wird der Web-OPAC als Ausleihort behandelt. Mozilla in der Version 1.6.1 kann als alternativer Browser eingesetzt werden.
