    Abstract
    The busy nature of a system designer's occupation often keeps him or her from reading professional material or attending conferences which might influence design strategies. This volume reports the proceedings of a national conference which examined influences on automated library system designers. The papers come from a wide variety of contributors, including librarians, library school faculty, library researchers, and commercial system suppliers.
