    Abstract
    Mit der Inbetriebnahme des Online-Benutzerkataloges im vergangenen Jahr konnte die UB Kaiserslautern ihr integriertes lokales Bibliotheksinformationssystem um einen wichtigen Baustein ergänzen. Wie auch durch die Installation eines CD-ROM Netzes zur Abfrage der lokal vorgehaltenen CD-ROM Datenbanken sowie die Durchführung von Rechercheseminaren zur Nutzung von Online-Literaturdatenbanken bei externen Hosts wird den Benutzern zunehmend der Zugriff auf rechnergestützte Bibliotheksdienste von Terminals und Arbeitsplatzrechnern in den Lesesälen der Bibliothek und von ihren Arbeitsplätzen aus ermöglicht

    Abstract
    Im Jahr 1995 entstand in interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit der Prototyp Bücherschatz, ein Bibliotheks-Online_katalog für Kinder. Beteiligt waren Studierende und eine Professorin der FH Hamburg, Fb Bibliothek und Information, ein Designer und 2 Informatikerinnen der Universität Hamburg. In diesem Bericht werden sowohl das Produkt Bücherschatz als auch der Prozeß seiner Entwicklung beschrieben. Ein Schwerpunkt liegt in der Auseinandersetzung mit theoretischen Modellen der Softwaretechnik - hier STEPS und Prototyping - und ihrer Anpassung an konkrete Projekterfordernisse. Weiterhin werden Fragen nach der Gestaltung kindgerechter Software, der Organisation eines großen Projektteams und nach der Art der Partizipation der Benutzer thematisiert. Das Gesamtprojekt wird in einen wissenschaftlichen Kontext der Informatik eingeordnet, und zentrale Erfahrungen und Erkenntnisse hinsichtlich interdisziplinärer und partizipativer Softwareentwicklung werden zusammengefaßt

    Abstract
    Die Bereitstellung von Bibliothekskatalogen im Internet ist für die Nutzer ein enormer Vorteil. Soe können quasi vom heimischen Schreibtisch aus in den Beständen ihrer Bibliothek bzw. einer ganzen Region recherchieren, häufig werden auch die Informationen bereits nicht mehr fachbibliothekarischen Gesichtspunkten aufbereitet, sondern entsprechn den Ansprüchen der Benutzer. Hinzu kommt, daß immer mehr Bibliotheken ihre WWW-OPACs mit Benutzungsfunktionen ausstatten, so daß die Kunden auch Informationen über den eigenen Kontostand einholen können. Insgesamt gibt es in Deutschland ein breites Spektrum sowohl an über das Internet erreichbaren OPACs als auch an Bibliotheksverbünden

The ETH-Bibliothek is the main library of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and the national centre for scientific and technical literature. Mostly there is no open access for the public. The ETHICS project was initiated to run library applications on the the library's own computer. The project is conceived as a multi-library integrated system whose separate units interrelate via a central database. The main function of the system is the online public access catalogue. Describes the specifications of ETHICS including interactive communication in German and French for storing and retrieving data. The subject index is maintained in French, German and English.
