Abstract

Im April 1994 nahm die UB Tübingen als erste große UB des Landes Baden-Württemberg die Sacherschließung ihrer Neuerwerbungen nach den RSWK auf, nachdem der seit 1960 geführte Sachkatalog nach 'Methode Eppelsheimer' bereits Ende 1993 abgebrochen worden war. Hatte sich die Bibliothek noch 1991 darauf geeinigt, den Eppelsheimer Sachkatalog fortzuführen bzw. eine EDV-gestützte Version zu entwickeln und sich der kooperativen Sacherschließung nach RSWK nicht anzuschließen, so zwang sie ein Erlaß des Ministeriums für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst vom 9.7.1993, der u.a. forderte, 'auch die Sacherschließung arbeitsteilig unter Inanspruchnahme der Dienstleistungen des SWB durchzuführen', den bisher eingeschlagenen Weg der Inhaltserschließung zu verlassen und dem auf RSWK beruhenden Kooperationsunternehmen beizutreten. Obwohl von vornherein im Blick auf die spezifischen Bestände der UB Tübingen mit ihrem hohen anteil an Sondersammelgebietsliteratur gegen diese Entscheidung des Ministeriums Bedenken angemeldet wurden, stellte sich die UB entschlossen der veränderten Situation
