    Abstract
    Die Beiträge dieses Bandes zur Wissenschaftskommunikation behandeln - mit unterschiedlichen Methoden und Schwerpunktsetzungen - sowohl die einzelsprachliche Verfasstheit wissenschaftlicher Kommunikation als auch Perspektiven der Mehrsprachigkeit für das Betreiben von Wissenschaft. Die Untersuchungen basieren auf empirischen Beobachtungen zu sprachspezifischen Merkmalen und Konventionen wissenschaftlichen Schreibens, erörtern Probleme der Begrifflichkeit und der Übersetzung und behandeln die Frage der Sprachenwahl in bestimmten Fachbereichen. Ein Schwerpunkt des Bandes liegt beim Erwerb wissenschaftssprachlicher Kompetenz in der akademischen Ausbildung - auch aus der Sicht des Nicht-Muttersprachlers. Diesem Thema, das im Zuge der Internationalisierung des Hochschulbetriebs für die (Fremd-)Sprachdidaktik zunehmend relevant wird, bringt die Wissenschaftsprachforschung in jüngerer Zeit erhöhte Aufmerksamkeit entgegen. Die meisten Beiträge wurden beim 15. Europäischen Fachsprachensymposium (New Trends in Specialized Discourse, Universität Bergamo, 29. August - 2. September 2005) präsentiert; darüber hinaus konnten weitere Beiträge im Bereich der Wissenschaftskommunikationsanalyse für den Band gewonnen werden.

Buzinkay): "Diese Buchbesprechung (und auch meine zweite - 101 e-learning Seminarmethoden) ist zunächst in diesem Rahmen thematisch vielleicht etwas fragwürdig. Ich möchte deshalb ein wenig meine Wahl für diese zwei Bücher begründen, bevor wir zur eigentlichen Buchrezension kommen. Die Bibliothekswelt ist in einem technologischen und konzeptuellen Umbruch begriffen. Bibliotheken werden nicht mehr nur als ein Ort der geordneten Büchersammlung verstanden, und sie können es auch nicht mehr. Nicht nur, dass das Medium zunehmend an Bedeutung verliert, und mag es noch einhundert Jahre dauern, der Umbruch ist unaufhaltsam; sondern auch die Anforderungen der "Leserinnen" (auch ein Wort, dass "demnächst" in der Versenkung verschwinden wird) verändern sich rasch und tiefgreifend. Dass sich die Bibliothek anpassen muss, ist nahe liegend, doch das "wie" ist eine heiß diskutierte Angelegenheit. Ein Konzept ist das der Teaching Library, die Bibliothek als ein Ort des Lernens. Wenn Sie der Meinung sind, dass der gängige Lesesaal dieses Konzept bereits verwirklicht, dann können Sie diese Buchbesprechung getrost überspringen. Wenn Sie aber glauben, die Bibliothek hat mehr drauf und sollte sich in die Mitte des Lernprozesses bewegen, dann fangen Sie am besten damit an, die Möglichkeiten einer Lernplattform wie Moodle auszutesten. Neben dem eigentlichen Inhalt bietet das Buch auch einen Einstieg in den virtuellen Sandkasten von Moodle, wo Sie alle Funktionen ohne Reue ausprobieren können. Dieses Buch ist von einem in Moodle erfahrenen Pädagogen geschrieben, der auf eigene Faust Lehrinhalte auch virtuell als Ergänzung zum Präsenzunterricht vorangetrieben hat. Zahlreiche Screenshots und Tips ergänzen den gut struktierten Inhalt. Die wesentlichen Inhalte sind: - der Einstieg ins System - die Verwaltung von Kursen, Lehrern und Studenten - die Erstellung von Arbeitsunterlagen, Lektionen und Tests - die Nutzung verschiedener integrierter Kommunikationskanäle Jedes einzelne Kapitel beinhaltet neben dem eigentlichen Thema, Tipps und Anregungen, auch abschließende Übungen, die sie in Moodle sofort umsetzen können. Es ist deshalb nicht schlecht, bereits zu Beginn der Lektüre zumindest den Zugang zum Moodle-Testsystem zu haben. Optimal wäre es natürlich, wenn Moodle schon bei Ihnen in Betrieb wäre ... Die letzten Seiten des Buches sind zahlreichen Einsatz-Beispielen aus der Praxis gewidmet. Das gibt nicht nur einen guten Eindruck über die Vielfalt der Möglichkeiten von Moodle, sondern inspiriert eigene eLearningSituationen, die auch in der Bibliothek einen mehr als berechtigten Ansatz hätten. Das Einzige, was ich an diesem Buch bedauere, ist, dass es nicht früher erschienen (und mir in die Hände gefallen) ist."

Anders als der Computerunterstützte Unterricht des vergangenen Jahrhunderts und anders als das derzeitige netzbasierte E-Learning ist CSCL nicht auf Lernen als individuellen Wissenserwerb ausgerichtet, sondern auf neue Wege, wo Lernende miteinander neues Wissen erarbeiten und dieses - in Diskussionen, Projektarbeiten oder auch Rollenspielen - vertiefen. Schon seit 1995 gibt es internationale Tagungen über CSCL, seit 2001 auch eine europäische. In Deutschland spielt CSCL eine Rolle in den Tagungsreihen "Mensch & Computer", der Wirtschaftsinformatik sowie bei den GMW-Jahrestagungen. Zahlreiche CSCL-Forscher haben sich in der "CSCL-Community" im Rahmen der 2002 gegründeten International Society of the Learning Sciences organisiert. Es ist schon heute schwierig, sich in der Flut von Fachpublikationen, Tagungsberichten und Internet-Beiträgen über CSCL zurecht zu finden. Auch das vorliegende Werk nennt als Literatur auf über 6o Seiten mehr als 1.00o solcher Beiträge. Wie kann man hier den Überblick behalten? Auf diese Frage versuchen die Herausgebern Jörg M. Haake (FernUniversität in Hagen), Gerhard Schwabe (Universität Zürich) und Martin Wessner (Fraunhofer IPSI in Darmstadt) mit dem von ihnen herausgegebenen CSCL-Kompendium eine Antwort. Um es vorweg zu nehmen: Die fachliche Breite des Werks, seine klare Strukturierung und die dabei zu Tage tretende Fachkompetenz der insgesamt 54 Autorinnen und Autoren überzeugen. Das Werk liest sich überwiegend flüssiger als manches einschlägige Lehrbuch und ist doch gleichzeitig als CSCL-Handbuch geeignet. Obwohl es kein Sachwortverzeichnis gibt, findet man sich in den mehr als 45o Textseiten durch den klaren Aufbau des Werks, durch die Verkettung der Fachbegriffe und durch die durchweg klare Sprache gut zurecht. Das erste Kapitel des Werks befasst sich mit wichtigen Grundlagen und Forschungsmethoden des CSCL - unter Einschluss der pädagogischen und didaktischen Grundlagen. Besonders interessant ist der Beitrag von R. Hartwig und M. Herczeg über Informatikgrundlagen und Mensch-Computer-Kommunikation.
    Das Kompendium schließt mit recht mutig formulierten - erfolgversprechenden - Perspektiven der Herausgeber. Es fehlt jedoch keinesfalls an der kritischen Sicht auf Defizite und-noch vorhandene -kulturelle, methodische, organisatorische und technische Barrieren. Es wird auf die Interdisziplinarität von CSCL ebenso verwiesen wie auf die nicht zuletzt daraus resultierende Heterogenität der verwendeten Konzepte und Methoden. Unter der Hauptthese "CSCL wird erwachsen!" formulieren die Herausgeber u. a. folgende Thesen für die Zukunft von CSCL: 1. Lernräume werden CSCL-fähig. 2. "CSCL-Systeme integrieren individuelle und kooperative Lernphasen. 3. Lernplattformen werden CSCL-fähig. 4. CSCL wird ins Standard-Repertoire (?) aufgenommen. 5. CSCL wird Lernprozesse flexibel unterstützen. 6. Kooperatives Lernen wird ein wichtiger Baustein für lebenslanges Lernen. 7. Lernen, Arbeiten und Spielen werden verschmelzen. 8. Es werden neuartige Nutzungsszenarien für CSCL entstehen. Bei mehr als 50 beteiligten Autoren und Autorinnen bleibt es unvermeidlich, dass man beim kritischen Lesen auch auf einzelne widersprüchliche Formulierungen und unterschiedliche Begriffsauslegungen stößt.
