- Abstract
- Unter dem Projektnamen CHILIAS entsteht in den Jahren 1996-1998 in Kooperation verschiedener europäischer Partner die virtuelle Simulation einer Kinderbibliothek auf dem Internet. Hintergrund ist das EU-Förderprogramm Telematik für Bibliotheken. Ein Konzept für ein Internetangebote über Autoren und Literatur für Kinder als Zielgruppe wird erarbeitet. Durch den beispielhaften Entwurf einer Internetseite über die Schriftstellerin Astrid Lindgren wird das Konzept konkretisiert und veranschaulicht. Die Grundregeln und die wichtigsten Regeln für die einzelnen Schlagwortkategorien einschließlich Sonderregeln für Kunst- und Bauwerke, Werke der Literatur und Rechtsmaterien werden dargestellt. Die Probleme bei verbaler Sacherschließung allgemein werden behandelt und hieraus Anforderungen an Regelwerke und ihre Anwendung abgeleitet. Die Anwendung der RSWK einschließlich der Anwendung in Verbünden und der Benutzung der Schlagwortnormdatei SWD werden umrissen. Kommentierte Literaturhinweise. - Diese Arbeit stellt Wert und informationelle Mehrwerte vor, die durch Inhouse-Retrieval-Systeme genutzt werden können. - Abstract
- Die Darstellung der theoretischen Grundlagen, die zu einer strukturierten und durchdachten Benutzerschulung führen, basiert hauptsächlich auf anglo-amerikanischer Literatur mit dem Schwerpunkt bei den Situationen der Universitätsbibliotheken. Die praktische Planung, Entwicklung und Organisation des Benutzerschulungsprogramms der New Mexico State University (NMSU) in Alamogordo nach der Lehrmethode Workbook wird dargestellt. Ferner werden die Benutzerschulungsangebote einer Bewertung unterzogen, inwieweit jene die in der Literatur beschriebenen Kriterien erfüllen, auch hier auf der Basis des Library Skills Workbook der Bibliothek, Abschließend folgt ein Ausblick auf neuere Tendenzen in der Benutzschulung in den USA und die Anwendbarkeit der theoretischen Grundlagen in Deutschland

- Abstract
- In dieser Arbeit wird das VD 17-Projekt vorgestellt. Der Erörterung des Themas ist zunächst ein kurzer Exkurs in die Entwicklungsgeschichte des Projekts vorangestellt, um einen Überblick über die Vorgeschichte und Planungsohasen des Projekts zu gewähren. - Abstract
- Der Erziehungs- und Bildungsauftrag der Schule umfaßt informationelle Bildung als eine der Schlüsselkompetenzen der Informationsgesellschaft. Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die Grundlagen für die aus dieser Aussage abgeleiteten notwendigen curricularen Ergänzungen und Neuerungen herausgearbeitet. Im Zentrum steht die Überführung des Erziehungsziels "informationelle Bildung" in eine operationalisierbare Zieltaxonomie, die in Basiswissen, das Technologie- und Medienkompetenz umfaßt, in Handlungswissen unter den Aspekten Information, Präsentation, Kommunikation, Transaktion und in Metakompetenzen aufgeschlüsselt wird. Die Herleitung der Ziele erfolgt aufgrund der als maßgeblich erachteten Strukturmerkmale, die sich aus der Konstellation der sich herausbildenden Informationsgesellschaft, der Telemediatisierung und der Institution Schule ableiten. Für die Realisierung im Unterricht wird die Modifikation der gegebenen schulpädagogischen Konzepte "informationstechnische Grundbildung" und "Medienerziehung" sowie der Ansatz der handlungsorientierten Pädagogik vorgeschlagen, an Einsatzmöglichkeiten im Unterricht konkretisiert und hinsichtlich der Sicherung der Rahmenbedingungen bezüglich inner- und außerschulischer Kooperation sowie personeller und technischer Ressourcen diskutiert.

- Abstract
- In einer explorartiven Studie werden Arbeitsbedingungen, -strukturen und -methoden englischer und U.S.-amerikanischer Free lance film researcher beschrieben und vor diesem Hintergrund die Möglichkeiten des Einsatzes freiberuflicher Filmrechercheure auch im Rahmen bundesdeutscher Film- und Fernsehproduktion beurteilt. Der erste Teil der Untersuchung befaßt sich mit der Notwendigkeit produktionsintegrierter Film- und Fernsehrecherche und stellt typische Aufgaben- und Verantwortungsbereiche von Filmresearchern vor. Auf der Grundlage einer leitfadengestützten, standardisierten Tiefenbefragung von 8 englischen und 8 amerikanischen Filmrechercheuren sowie von Recherchemitarbeitern in 3 deutschen Fernsehredaktionen werden zunächst die politisch-rechtlichen, medienwirtschaftlichen und quellenbezogenen Rahmenbedingungen geschildert, unter denen die anglo-amerikanischen Filmrechercheure arbeiten. Vergleichend werden deren Qulifikationen und Voraussetzungen charakterisiert, Aufgaben und Arbeitsfelder erläutert, es werden arbeitsrechtliche Grundlagen verdeutlicht sowie die besonderen Arbeitsmethoden und Hilfsmittel von Filmrechercheuren vorgestellt. Ähnlichkeiten und Unterschiede zwischen der produktionsintegrierten Filmrecherche in den USA und in Großbritannien werden der Situation von recherchierenden Mitarbeitern in deutschen Redaktionen gegenübergestellt. Zuletzt weist die Studie die ablauforganisatorischen, produktionsinhaltlichen und ökonomischen Vorteile nach, die sich durch den Einsatz von freiberuflichen Filmrechercheuren in bundesrepublikanischen Sendeanstalten und Fernsehproduktionsfirmen erzielen lassen

- Abstract
- In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden 4 Abfrageoberflächen unterschiedlicher Retrievalsysteme, die für die Mitarbeiter des Umweltbundesamtes Berlin zugänglich sind, im Hinblick auf Nutzerfreundlichkeit und intuitiver Bedienbarkeit vergleichend untersucht. Der 'Einfachdialog' und die Oberfläche der 'Umwelt-CD' greifen auf die Datenbestände der Umweltdatenbanken zu. Berücksichtigt werden hierbei die Oberflächen zur Recherche in ULIDAT und UFORDAT. Das Metadatensystem UDK (Umweltdatenkatalog) wird in der PC-Version, dem 'UDK-UBA', und in der WWW-Variante in die Untersuchung einbezogen

- Diese Diplomarbeit beschreibt ein verteiltes Bibliothes-Informationssystem für bibliographische Datenbnaken im Internet. Der Name des Systems ist ZACK. Der Benutzer kann mit ZACK in einer oder mehreren bibliographischen Datenbanken nach einem Dokument suchen und die Treffer in die eigene lokale Datenbank übernehmen. Mit der Übernahme der Datensätze aus einer fremden Datenbank wird die Erfassung neuer Dokumente wesentlich erleichtert, da die Eigenkatalogisierung auf ein Minimum beschränkt werden kann. Bei der verteilten Suche mit ZACK wird parallel in mehreren Datenbanken gesucht. Dubletten werden als solche erkannt

- Abstract
- Die beiden Leitbegriffe des Titels - Buchtitel zugleich einschlägiger Werke - bezeichnen eine Alternative in der frühneuzeitlichen Speicherung und Vermittlung von Wissen: die möglichst umfassende Thesaurierung überkommener Wissensbestände beziehungsweise ihre kritische Sichtung und Auswahl unter bestimmten Relevanzgesichtspunkten. Der eine Titel stammt von dem Zürcher Polyhistor Konrad Gessner, der andere von dem Jesuiten Antonio Possevino. Voraussetzung beider Unternehmen ist der Buchdruck, der etwa hundert Jahre nach seiner Erfindung in bis dahin unerhörtem Ausmaß Schrifttradition zugänglich gemacht hat, aber durch die schiere Quantität zunehmend Strategien zu ihrer Sicherung und Nutzbarmachung verlangt. Der Bibliotheca universalis wie der Bibliotheca selecta geht es um Orientierung in einem immer unübersichtlicheren Bestand schriftlich tradierten Wissens, der den Wissensfortschritt zu behindern droht. Beide haben also nicht wissenschaftliche Erkenntnis selbst, sondern ihre Vermittlung zum Ziel, und sie wollen kein System des Wißbaren entwerfen, sondern auf der Basis hergebrachter Ordnungen des Wissens den Leser dazu anleiten, sich in jenem Bestand zurechtzufinden. Es ist ein erster Vorzug dieser Münchner Dissertation, daß sie dieses Problem rekonstruiert, so daß das frühneuzeitliche Projekt der Bibliothek nicht mehr am falschen Maßstab der Enzyklopädie als Summe des Wißbaren gemessen wird.

- Abstract
- Die Einführung macht mit den Grundbegriffen der bibliothekarischen Klassifikationstheorie und -praxis sowie ausgewählten Bibliotheksklassifikationen bekannt. Eingangs wird die Problemstellung, für die Klassifikationen eine Lösung bieten sollen, umrissen. Dann werden anhand von Fragen die Aspekte zur Entwicklung und Beurteilung von Klassifikationen allgemein und Aufstellungssystematiken im Besonderen umrissen (Sachgerechtheit und Zielgruppenentsprechung, Gliederung, Schlüsselung und Normung, Notation, Klassenbeschreibung und Terminologie, Umfang und Erweiterbarkeit, Anwendungsregeln, Register). Auch organisatorische Aspekte der Anwendung von Klassifikationen werden umrissen. Kurz beschrieben werden ausgewählte Klassifikationen: Die internationale Dezimalklassifikation DK und die DDC, die Regensburger Verbundklassifikation RVK, die Basisklassifikation, die SfB, die KAB, die ASB. Es folgen ausgewählte Literaturhinweise. Ferner werden Übungen zum Klassifizieren ausgewählter Titel mit Hinweisen auf Möglichkeiten zur Selbstüberprüfung und zur Notationsrevision gegeben
