    Abstract
    Die rasante wissenschaftlich-technische Entwicklung birgt neben Chancen auch Risiken. Ein zunehmender Anteil dieser Risiken fällt unter die Kategorie sog. systemischer Risiken. Vermutete Risiken von Novel Food, Elektrosmog, Nanotechnologie und andere Themen werden kontrovers diskutiert. Dabei kann die Wissenschaft ihre Beratungsfunktion in Form eines Leistungsversprechens gegenüber Politik und Öffentlichkeit immer weniger erfolgreich einlösen - zu groß ist die Heterogenität der (Nicht-)Wissensbestände. Das hat zur Folge, dass sowohl für Individuen als auch für Politik gesichertes Entscheidungswissen immer seltener verfügbar sein wird. Trotzdem müssen auf allen Ebenen (sowohl individuell als auch global) weiterhin Entscheidungen getroffen werden; Entscheidungen unter den Bedingungen von Ungewissheit. Vor diesem Hintergrund steht die Risikokommunikation vor der Frage, wie heterogenes Wissen und Nichtwissen über systemische Risiken vermittelt werden kann. Unsere These ist, dass sich Risikokommunikation aus der Einbahnstraßenkommunikation nach dem Muster Experten-belehren-Laien verabschieden muss. Nur eine integrative Risikokommunikation, die Wissensbestände nicht a priori sortiert, kann den aktuellen Risikokontroversen gerecht werden. Wir möchten mit dem Ansatz der "internetbasierten Visualisierung von Risikokontroversen" einen Beitrag zu einer adäquateren Risikoerschließung und Risikokommunikation leisten.

    Abstract
    In diesem Aufsatz wird der Entwicklungsstand der Terminologiewissenschaft auf 3 Ebenen analysiert: (1) in Bezug auf die Forschungsfragen, die in Forschungsprojekten, universitären Qualifizierungsarbeiten und anderen Forschungskontexten gestellt und auf der Basis empirischer Analysen beantwortet werden, darauf aufbauend (2) in Bezug auf die Methoden, die dabei verwendet werden, die Theorien, die solchen Arbeiten zugrunde gelegt werden, und die Paradigmen, in denen sich die Theorien und Methoden verorten lassen, sowie (3) in Bezug auf die darüber liegende Ebene der Terminologiewissenschaft als Disziplin. Auf allen 3 Ebenen lässt sich feststellen, dass der interdisziplinäre und multiperspektivische Charakter der Terminologiewissenschaft in den letzten Jahrzehnten zugenommen hat und sich weiter verstärkt.

    Abstract
    Im letzten Jahr Puerto Rico auf der Südhalbkugel, in diesem Jahr hoch im Norden in der finnischen Hauptstadt - der Weltkongress Bibliothek und Information tagt in allen Teilen der Welt. Vom 11. bis 17. August 2012 trafen sich rund 4100 Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare aus 114 Ländern in Helsinki, um sich über die neuesten Trends und Entwicklungen in ihrem Bereich zu informieren und auszutauschen. Insgesamt waren aus Deutschland 133 Personen nach Helsinki angereist, um an 218 Blockveranstaltungen und sonstigen Vortragsveranstaltungen zu den verschiedensten Themen aus dem Bibliotheksbereich teilzunehmen. Im Vergleich dazu kamen 79 Teilnehmer aus Frankreich, 11 aus Österreich, 60 aus den Niederlanden, 134 aus Großbritannien und 383 aus den USA. Die größte Gruppe stellte natürlich die der finnischen Kolleginnen und Kollegen dar mit 1066 Teilnahmen. Die chinesische Delegation stellte 198 Personen, Russland 132 und Südafrika entsandte 48 Personen. Von deutscher Seite wurden 26 Vorträge gehalten, in fast allen der rund 45 Fachgremien der IFLA sind deutsche Spezialisten aktiv dabei und 17 Projekte aus den deutschen Bibliotheken wurden in Helsinki in Form eines Posters präsentiert. Das Poster Prison Library Now! von Gerhard Peschers, Justizvollzugsanstalt Münster, Fachstelle Gefangenenbüchereiwesen, wurde zum Best IFLA Poster Session 2012 gekürt. Wie in den vergangenen Jahren soll an dieser Stelle über die Veranstaltungen, Trends und Fortschritte der Sektionen Bibliografie, Katalogisierung, Klassifikation und Indexierung, Knowledge Management und Informationstechnologie sowie des IFLA Committee on Standards berichtet werden.

    Abstract
    Schattenbibliotheken wie Sci-Hub bieten Zugriff auf wissenschaftliche Volltexte aus allen akademischen Disziplinen. Sie agieren rechtswidrig, indem sie die Bezahlschranken der Verlage umgehen und Dokumente in ihren eigenen Datenbanken speichern. Sie können als eine der Auswirkungen auf die Zeitschriftenkrise der letzten Jahrzehnte verstanden werden. Im Rahmen meiner Bachelorarbeit habe ich mich intensiv mit diesem noch relativ jungen Phänomen auseinandergesetzt. Bibliotheken sind als Bindeglied zwischen den Wissenschaftsverlagen und ihren eigenen Nutzern direkt von Schattenbibliotheken betroffen. Während sie auf der einen Seite von einer besseren Verhandlungsposition gegenüber Verlagen profitieren könnten, müssen sie auf der anderen Seite mit den illegalen Datenbanken konkurrieren. Wie kann diese Gradwanderung gelingen?

    Abstract
    Menschen sprechen mit Maschinen, weil diese - für zahllose Verständigungszwecke - offenbar die Kommunikationspartner erster Wahl sind: Sprachroboter kommunizieren ohne Ansehen der Person mit allen Konsumenten auf vergleichbar verständige und konsensorientierte Weise. Es sind Maschinen, deren Verständigung mit uns gewaltfrei, thematisch offen und zeitlich unbegrenzt möglich ist. Sprachroboter leisten, was von Menschen nur in einer idealtypischen und kontrafaktischen Form der Verständigung zu erwarten wäre. Dass Habermas die Theorie des kommunikativen Handelns nicht der Gefahr ausgesetzt sah, auch auf die Verständigung mit Maschinen anwendbar zu sein, hat nicht-triviale Folgen für deren Anwendungsanalyse.
