    Abstract
    In der folgenden Arbeit werde ich die Sozialontologie John Searles genauer betrachten. Das Ziel seiner Ausarbeitungen besteht darin, das Problem der Sozialontologie zu klären, das heißt herauszufinden, wie Menschen "eine 'soziale' Wirklichkeit kreieren" (Searle 2009, S. 505). Unser Hauptaugenmerk wird hierbei auf den Gegenstand der Sozialontologie, also auf soziale Prozesse und Tatsachen, soziale Objekte und Ereignisse, gelenkt sein. Generell versucht Searle durch seine Ausführungen zu klären, inwiefern institutionelle soziale Phänomene "über die Sozialontologie hinausgehen, die bei sozialen Tieren vorliegt" (Searle 2009, S. 512). Seine Arbeit ist demnach ein Versuch zu erklären, durch welche Merkmale die menschliche Sozialontologie der tierischen überlegen ist. Searle nimmt die soziale Wirklichkeit als menschliches Konstrukt an, die nur dadurch existiert, weil wir glauben und akzeptieren, dass sie existiert. Was macht etwa ein bedrucktes Stück Papier zu einem Geldschein mit einem bestimmten Wert? Wieso kann ein Tier dieselbe physische Beschaffenheit eines Geldscheins betrachten wie ein Mensch, aber doch nicht den Geldschein, sondern nur das bedruckte Papier sehen? In diesem Zusammenhang werden wir auf die drei Grundformeln Searles zur Beschreibung der Grundstruktur der sozial-institutionellen Wirklichkeit stoßen, und hierzu die kollektive Intentionalität, Statuszuschreibung und konstitutive Regeln und Prozeduren näher betrachten. Es soll beschrieben werden, wie zum Beispiel ein bedrucktes Stück Papier durch Statuszuweisung eine gewisse Macht erzeugt.

    Abstract
    Ist die uns vertraute Wirklichkeit von unserem Denken und Erkennen unabhängig? Der Realismus gibt auf diese Frage eine positive, die verschiedenen Formen des Antirealismus eine negative Antwort. Doch die Diskussion zwischen Realisten und Antirealisten beruht auf einem Missverständnis des zugrundeliegenden Problems. Dieses liegt nicht in der Denkunabhängigkeit der Wirklichkeit, sondern in unserem mentalen Zugang zu ihr: Wie können wir über eine von Erkennen und Denken unabhängige Wirklichkeit Wissen erlangen und wie können wir uns im Denken überhaupt auf sie beziehen? Eine "kontextualistische" Zurückweisung des Skeptizismus und eine neuartige ("normativdisjunktive") Konzeption theoretischer Intentionalität sollen zeigen, dass die mentale Zugänglichkeit der Wirklichkeit durch ihre Denkunabhängigkeit nicht in Frage gestellt wird. Das Ergebnis ist die indirekte Verteidigung eines "direkten" Realismus. Es scheint, dass sich elf Jahre nach dem Erscheinen der ersten Auflage dieses Buches der Trend weg vom antirealistischen und hin zu realistischen Positionen in der Philosophie weiter verstärkt hat. Andererseits haben sich Autoren wie McDowell und Brandom immer stärker Hegel zugewandt, ohne sich von den idealistischen Implikationen seiner Philosophie abschrecken zu lassen. Die Debatte über Realismus und Antirealismus ist also keineswegs abgeschlossen.

    Abstract
    Die Sozialwissenschaften bestehen aus verschiedenen Fachdisziplinen, die sich mit gesellschaftlichen Fragestellungen befassen. Zur Untersuchung von sozialer Wirklichkeit werden Daten benötigt.Diesewerden in unterschiedlicherArt und Weise erhoben und in vielen Fällen für weitere Forschungsvorhaben zur Verfügung gestellt. Damit die Daten für andere von Nutzen sind, müssen sie entsprechend dokumentiert, aufbereitet und archiviert werden. Dies geschieht in Forschungsdatenzentren, Datenservicezentren ebenso wie in Datenarchiven. Bei sozialwissenschaftlichen Erhebungen werden regelmäßig Daten von Individuen erhoben, das bedeutet, dass der Datenschutz eine große Rolle spielt. Fragen bezüglich Datenmanagement und Langzeitarchivierung gewinnen auch in den Sozialwissenschaften zunehmend an Bedeutung.

    Abstract
    Großartig waren seine Projekte, ewigen Bestand haben einige seiner Erkenntnisse, und doch ist Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz vor allem deswegen unser Zeitgenosse, weil seine Versuche vergeblich waren, der Wirklichkeit Vernunft beizubringen. Er starb vor 300 Jahren, die deutsche Wissenschaftswelt hat ein "Leibnizjahr" ausgerufen, das den vollendeten Gelehrten feiert, aber eigentlich wäre es ein Anlass, über den unvollendeten Leibniz nachzudenken und darüber, was sein Bemühen uns lehrt. .

    Abstract
    Die Wirklichkeit ist komplexer als das Abbild, das wir uns von ihr erschaffen. Es gibt keine dauerhafte Ordnung und Stabilität für komplexe Systeme. Die aus ihnen resultierenden Probleme, wie Komplexitätsreduzierung und Interessensteuerung dürfen nicht vernachlässigt werden. Entscheider befinden sich in einem Dilemma: Zum einen lösen sie keine Probleme, sie bewältigen sie, indem sie für eine unbestimmte Zeit einen möglichst breiten Konsens erreichen. Zum anderen müssen sie ihre Entscheidungen rhetorisch so vortragen, dass diese missliche Lage, in der sie sich befinden, verdeckt bleibt. Im Mittelpunkt des Beitrages steht eine Auswahl von Entscheidungs-, Kreativitäts- und Problemlösungstechniken (EKP). Einen besonderen Wert wird neben den klassischen EKP auch auf Methoden, Techniken und Strategien gelegt, die in der LIS-Welt selten oder gar keine Anwendung finden.
