- Abstract
- In diesem Beitrag wird anhand praktischer Beispiele von Internet-Angeboten aufgezeigt wie weitgehend und umfassend Informations-Design bei der Formung von multimedialen Kommunikationslösungen beteiligt ist und welche Aspekte dabei wichtig sind. Es werden konzeptionell-strategische Gesamtaspekte beleuchtet und funktional-optisch wichtige Details aufgezeigt. - Die Menge an Daten im Internet steigt weiter rapide an. Damit wächst auch der Bedarf an qualitativ hochwertigen Information Retrieval Diensten zur Orientierung und problemorientierten Suche. Die Entscheidung für die Benutzung oder Beschaffung von Information Retrieval Software erfordert aussagekräftige Evaluierungsergebnisse. Dieser Beitrag stellt neuere Entwicklungen bei der Evaluierung von Information Retrieval Systemen vor und zeigt den Trend zu Spezialisierung und Diversifizierung von Evaluierungsstudien, die den Realitätsgrad derErgebnisse erhöhen. - Abstract
- Multimediale Lernumgebungen werden bislang von wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken in Form von CD-ROMs zur Verfügung gestellt oder über Hyperlinks zu Angeboten von Fachbereichen, die von diesen selbst verwaltet und gepflegt werden. Ober diese Angebote hat Monika Cremer in ihrem Artikel "Multimedia in deutschen Bibliotheken" einen breiten Oberblick gegeben. An dieser Stelle soll ein seit dem 1.10.2000 laufendes Projekt vorgestellt werden, bei dem die Bibliothek schon in die Entwicklung der Lernumgebung einbezogen ist und die Verwaltung sowie die Distribution vollständig übernimmt. Dadurch wird das Dienstleistungsspektrum der Bibliothek sowohl gegenüber den Fachbereichen als auch gegenüber den Studierenden signifikant erweitert

- Die Headlines einschlägiger Presseorgane und der sich in jüngster Zeit häufenden Veranstaltungen und Kongresse zum Thema Multimedia machen die Bandbreite von Einschätzungen und Empfindungen deutlich, die sich mit dem Leitbild der Informationsgesellschaft verbinden. Vom Aufbruch in ein neues Zeitalter oder aber auch von der zerstörung der demokratischen Grundlagen unserer Gesellschaft ist die Rede, von gigantischen Arbeitsplatzverlusten, die in der Folge zu erheblichen sozialen Verwerfungen führen und von völlig neuen Berufsperspektiven für Hunderttausende. Menschen aus den unterschiedlichsten gesellschaftlichen Bereichen, aus Kultur, Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Gewerkschaften und Bildung fühlen sich berufen oder genötigt, die prognostizierten Entwicklungen zu kommentieren. - Zu den großen Schlagworten unserer Zeit gehört Multimedia. Gleichzeitig ist kein Bereich der Informationstechnologien so starken Veränderungen unterworfen, sei es durch neue Hardware oder durch neue Software. Dabei hat die Entwicklung inzwischen ein Niveau erreicht, das den breiten Einsatz in und für Unternehmen fast zwangsläufig erscheinen läßt. Sei es im Rahmen des Marketings, im Rahmen von Schulungen, als Produkt oder auf eine andere Weise. In diesem Beitrag werden nun die Möglichkeiten betrachtet, neue Produkte auf der Basis dieser Technologie zu gestalten. Ganz nebenbei wird dabei auch ein Überblick über den gegenwärtigen Stand der Technik gegeben

- Abstract
- Ausgehend von den technischen Möglichkeiten bei der Präsentation von Geschichte mit Hilfe sogenannter Autorensysteme werden hier Perspektiven und Potenzial aber auch neue Schwierigkeiten z.B. hinsichtlich der Oualitätssicherung erörtert. Während dergrößte Vorteil sicher in der leichterzugänglichen mehrdimensionalen Rezeption zu sehen ist, gilt es künftig, auch bei der multimedialen Präsentation den wissenschaftlichen Ansprüchen zu genügen. Nach einer allgemeinen Betrachtung über den Einsatz multimedialer Techniken gibt der Beitrag einen Überblick über die Auswahl eines Autorensystems und den Beginn der Konzeptionsphase.
