Es ist in weiten Teilen in einem erzählenden und kommunikativen Stil geschrieben, der durch viele Beispiele und rhetorische Fragen den Zugang zum Thema erleichtert. . . . Insgesamt bietet das Buch eine gute und ausführliche Einführung in das Thema Information Retrieval. Seine Stärke sind die Breite der Quellen und dargestellten Ansätze, die ausführliche Einführung in die verschiedenen Themen, Fragestellungen und Lösungsansätze, insbesondere in den Bereichen Textstatistik und Informetrie.
