- Im Aisthesis Verlag ist der erste Teil der Bibliografie Brigitte Reimann von Kristina Stella erschienen. Die Bibliografie ist das Ergebnis der jahrelangen Recherchen Stellas in Bibliotheken und Archiven. Das umfangreiche Nachschlagewerk ermöglicht erstmalig einen vollständigen Überblick über das Werk der DDR-Schriftstellerin und dessen Rezeption. Teil A verzeichnet die Primärliteratur und enthält zahlreiche Hintergrundinformationen zu den Werken und deren unterschiedlichen Ausgaben. Der Nachweis der Originalmanuskripte und der umfangreichen Korrespondenz Brigitte Reimanns mit Privatpersonen und Institutionen bietet eine umfassende Übersicht über die in den Archiven vorhandenen Dokumente. Bühnenwerke, Rundfunksendungen, Fernsehsendungen und Veranstaltungen mit Beteiligung von Brigitte Reimann werden in Auswahl nachgewiesen. Teil B dokumentiert die Sekundärliteratur zu den Texten Reimanns sowie die auf die Person Brigitte Reimann bezogenen Publikationen. Dabei kommt den auf dem VD i6 aufsetzenden Digitalisierungsprojekten eine entscheidende Rolle zu. Die groß angelegten VD16-Digitalisierungsprojekte der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek werden in ihren Erschließungsaspekten und deren Auswirkungen auf den Nachweis der Digitalisate beschrieben, darüber hinaus wird die Rolle des VD i6 für eine koordinierte Digitalisierung der im deutschen Sprachbereich erschienenen Drucke des 16. Jahrhunderts dargestellt.

- Abstract
- Der vorliegende Beitrag informiert über das geplante Vorhaben VD 18 (Verzeichnis der im deutschen Sprachraum erschienenen Drucke des 18. Jahrhunderts), seine Vorgeschichte und die vorgesehene Struktur des Projekts. Im Unterschied zu gleichermaßen bezeichneten Projekten für frühere Jahrhunderte wird das VD 18 die Volltext-Digitalisierung aller verzeichneten Drucke bieten. Für den deutschen Sprachraum wird das VD 18 damit die digitale Bibliothek des 18. Jahrhunderts.

- Abstract
- Für die Suche nach bibliothekarischer Fachliteratur steht seit diesem Jahr die »Datenbank Deutsches Bibliothekswesen (DABI)« zur Verfügung. Sie soll Angebote wie INFODATA und LISA ergänzen. Bereits seit 1995 wird am Institut für Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft der Humboldt-Universität diese bibliografische Sammlung aufgebaut. Darin sind viele der wichtigsten bibliothekarischen Zeitschriften des deutschsprachigen Raumes erschlossen. Was ursprünglich eigentlich als internes Hilfsmittel für die Autoren des Handbuchs »Das Bibliothekswesen der Bundesrepublik Deutschland« gedacht war, steht inzwischen online als kostenloser Service für jeden bereit. Mit DABI soll die Informationslücke geschlossen werden, die seit der Einstellung der DBI-Datenbank DOBI entstanden ist-auch wenn DABI nicht den gleichen Umfang bietet wie das Vorgängermodell.

- Die deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft hat auf Vorschlag des Unterausschusses "Kulturelle Überlieferung" des Bibliotheksausschusses der DFG am 5. Mai 2004 in der Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Sachsen-Anhalt in Halle (Saale) ein Rundgespräch zum Thema "Verzeichnis der im deutschen Sprachraum erschienenen Drucke des 18. Jahrhunderts" veranstaltet. An dem Gespräch nahmen ca. 30 einschlägige Vertreter/innen der Wissenschaft und Vertreterinnen aus Bibliotheken teil, die über umfangreiche Sammlungen an Literatur des 18. Jahrhunderts verfügen und damit ein potentielles Interesse an einer vertieften Erschließung der Literatur dieses Zeitraums haben. Nachfolgend abgedruckt ist das Ergebnisprotokoll der Abschlussdiskussion des Rundgesprächs. Die Vorträge, das Protokoll und zwei ergänzende Beiträge zu der Thematik werden in einem separaten Tagungsband veröffentlicht, der im November unter folgendem Titel erscheint: VD 18: Verzeichnis der im deutschen Sprachraum erschienenen Drucke des 18.
