    Abstract
    This article examines whether academic libraries are still reclassifying materials, how they are doing so, and if the acquisition of electronic materials has an impact on reclassification efforts. An online survey was sent to the heads of cataloging units at libraries belonging to the Association of Research Libraries to answer these questions. Almost one-third of libraries are currently involved in reclassification projects. Most respondents reported they do not believe that purchasing e-books has affected their decisions about reclassification. The article also examines the faceted search capability of next-generation catalogs and their possible impact on patrons' use of classification.

    Abstract
    Für die Verbesserung der Sichtbarkeit von E-Books gibt es bereits verschiedene sogenannte Blended Shelfs, die E-Books und Printbücher gleichzeitig anzeigen können. Mittels Touchscreen-Funktionen lässt sich der Bestand durchsuchen, eingrenzen und genauer ansehen. Im Rahmen eines Projektes an der Universitätsbibliothek St. Gallen (HSG) wurde zu Beginn des Herbstsemesters 2017 ein solches Rechercheinstrument für die Lehrbuchsammlung entsprechend den eigenen Bedürfnissen realisiert. Mit diesem Praxisbericht soll gezeigt werden, welche Überlegungen, "Stolpersteine" und Lösungen dieses Projekt begleitet haben.

Druckfrisch kann die Ausgabe bei der ekz.bibliotheksser vice GmbH in Reutlingen für 14,90 Euro erworben werden (E-Mail Medien. Verkauf@ekz.de). Dort findet die KAB-K auch schon seit Beginn des Jahres Anwendung. Alle ab ID 1/10 veröffentlichten Titel werden danach systematisiert.     Abstract
    Der Aufsatz gilt der Frage, wo Medien aufgestellt werden können und unter welchen Bedingungen diese ausgesondert werden sollten. Letzteres soll möglichst konkret gefasst werden. Die Debatten um Aussonderung sind nicht neu, aber oftmals praktisch wirkungslos oder zumindest nicht ganz so wirkungsvoll wie gehofft, weil diese Debatten nicht hinreichend konkret geführt wurden. Die Brisanz des Themas ist in den letzten Jahren angesichts der im Allgemeinen negativen Entwicklung der Budgets von Bibliotheken und die Tendenz, statt Print- vermehrt E-Medien zu erwerben, entschärft, aber keinesfalls erloschen. Zunächst zum Begriff "Konzept": Dieser Begriff bezeichnet einen klar umrissenen Plan für ein Vorhaben. Der allein stehende und damit gänzlich unrelativierte Begriff "Konzept" könnte daher Erwartungen wecken, die ich mit dem Adjektiv "vorläufig" relativieren und damit bremsen möchte, denn wir haben keinen Plan, der von tief schürfenden, gar jahrelangen Erfahrungen geprägt ist: Wir haben ein Problem, auf das zu reagieren wir gezwungen sind. Ich bilde mir nicht ein, hierzu alles gelesen zu haben, weiß aber, dass hier neben theoretischen Überlegungen auch praktische Erfahrungen wichtig sind. Für entsprechende Mitteilungen wäre ich daher dankbar und erbitte sie hiermit. In allen Bibliotheken muss entschieden werden, ob vorhandene Literatur im Lesesaal oder im Magazin aufgestellt oder aber ausgesondert wird. Wenn Bücher nicht ausgesondert werden, sollte fachintern geregelt werden, welche Bücher im Lesesaal und welche im Magazin aufgestellt werden. Diese partielle Freizügigkeit kann jedoch nur in den unten angeführten Grenzen realisiert werden!
