- Abstract
- Account of the development of ISBD for cataloguing, focusing chiefly on the IFLA programme initiated at the International Meeting of Cataloguing Experts held in Copenhagen in 1969, which resulted in the 1974 1st official ed. of ISBD(M) for monographs. Versions were developed separately for serials (S), cartographic materials (CM) and non-book materials (NBM), resulting in incompatibilities resolved by the creation of a new general ISBD structure (G) in 1977. Since then new editions of (M), (S), (CM) and (NBM) have been produced, together with versions for printed music (PM) and ancient materials (A). The basic concepts of independence and uniformity underpin ISBD structure

- Abstract
- ORCID schafft mit Services wie der eindeutigen Verknüpfung von Forschenden und ihren Publikationen die Basis moderner Wissenschaftskommunikation. Das ORCID-Deutschland-Konsortium bietet eine kostenreduzierte ORCID-Premiummitgliedschaft an und unterstützt die Mitglieder bei der erfolgreichen ORCID-Integration. Diese umfasst neben einer Dialogplattform mit deutschsprachigen Informationsmaterialien weitere Supportleistungen. Ein wichtiger Erfolgsfaktor ist außerdem eine umfassende Kommunikationsstrategie der ORCID-Implementierung. Hier können die Mitglieder auf etablierte Kommunikationskanäle innerhalb ihrer Einrichtungen zurückgreifen. Gemeinsam leisten sie mit der Unterstützung des ORCID-DE-Projekts einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur erfolgreichen Verbreitung von ORCID in Deutschland.

- Abstract
- The Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris - the interactive museum for science and technology which opened to the public in 1986 hosts a multimedia library holding some 330,000 documents. The small collection of CD-ROMs integrated into the library's collection since the end of 1991 (''Public section'' and the "Didacthèque") have been expanded in October 1996. Presently more than 800 titles are available for viewing on site or for circulation. After the brief background of CD-ROM installation and collections in French public libraries this paper discusses the problems of describing CD-ROMs in the online catalog. It mostly concentrates on the collection for circulation. The rules of bibliographic description correspond to the draft of the French national standard, which follows the ISBD(ER) principles. The format used for cataloguing in the library is UNIMARC and the automated system - GEAC GLIS. Cataloguing has been done locally since the national bibliographic description of electronic documents was not available at the time when the first collection was constituted. Since April 1997 the "Bibliographie nationale française" on CD-ROM provides the description for electronic documents whose downloading is now possible. This paper analyses the benefits of downloading of bibliographic records for ER and concludes that some local adaptation (updating) is necessary for satisfying end user needs

- Abstract
- The Bibliothèque Nationale acquires about 45,000 non-French documents in roman script annually; these are cataloged online in the BN-OPALE database. A MARC format, INTERMARC, is used. Standards and format are consistent with international standards (ISBD, AACRZ, UNIMARC) so that conversion and loading of records from a CD-ROM network and from RLIN can be done without difficulty. In 1995 the Bibliothèque Nationale will become the Bibliothèque de France, housing in a new building books, periodicals, and audiovisual and electronic materials; Ule old building will maintain all other items (manuscripts, maps, engravings, coins, printed music, and materials on the prfomung arts). Then another computerized system wilh new abilities will replace the present one; Concerning cataloging, for example, there will be a project for linking bibliographic records to scanned summaries of books and to scanned documents.

- Abstract
- Das internationale ORCID-Konsortium vernetzt Publizierende mit ihren Aufsätzen und Forschungsdaten über eine eindeutige ID. Weltweit besitzen bereits über 2 Millionen Forschende eine solche Kennung. Um ORCID in Deutschland zu fördern, wurde das Projektvorhaben "ORCID DE - Förderung der Open Researcher and Contributor ID in Deutschland" gebildet. Die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) hat die Förderung des auf drei Jahre angelegten Projekts im Februar 2016 bewilligt. Durch die Integration in über 230 digitale Informationsinfrastrukturen erleichtert die Open Researcher and Contributor ID, kurz ORCID, die Pflege der Publikationsliste für Forscherinnen und Forscher. Die Idee dahinter ist folgende: Jede Person, die im wissenschaftlichen Arbeitsprozess einen Beitrag leistet, kann sich über die eindeutige ORCID-Kennung mit ihren Publikationen, Forschungsdaten und anderen Produkten des Forschungsprozesses (zum Beispiel Software) eindeutig vernetzen. Damit werden diese Objekte sichtbar und technisch verlässlich mit ihren Erschafferinnen und Erschaffern verbunden. ORCID bietet das Potenzial, bisher verteilte Informationen standardisiert zusammenzuführen und damit einen Überblick auf die Forschungsleistung von Forschenden zu ermöglichen. Durch die Offenheit des Systems und des großen internationalen Konsortiums ist ORCID auf dem Weg, ein langfristig gültiger Identifikator im wissenschaftlichen Alltag zu werden.
Ziel des DFG-Projekts ORCID DE ist es, die vielerorts erwogene Implementierung der ORCID an Hochschulen und außeruniversitären Forschungseinrichtungen durch einen übergreifenden Ansatz nachhaltig zu unterstützen. Dabei stehen organisatorische, technische und rechtliche Fragen gleichermaßen im Fokus. Neben der Schaffung einer zentralen Anlaufstelle für Hochschulen und außeruniversitäre Forschungseinrichtungen sind die Vernetzung und Verbreitung der ORCID im Bereich von Open-Access-Repositorien und -Publikationdiensten sowie die Verzahnung mit der Gemeinsame Normdatei (GND) wesentliche Aspekte des Projekts. Projektpartner von ORCID DE sind das Helmholtz Open Science Koordinationsbüro am Deutschen GeoForschungsZentrum GFZ, die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek und die Universitätsbibliothek Bielefeld. Das Projekt wurde durch die Deutsche Initiative für Netzwerkinformation (DINI) initiiert.
