- - De-Standardisierung als Lösung? - Adrian Nolte (Stadtbibliothek Essen) übte ebenfalls scharfe Kritik am Entscheidungsverfahren: »Was bringt eine Formatumstellung Öffentlichen Bibliotheken, die sich im Überlebenskampf befinden?« Gerade solch existenzielle Fragen blieben in der Debatte um Regelwerke und Datenformate nahezu unberücksichtigt, die gegenwärtig diskutierte »Reform« sei gerade den kommunalen Bibliotheken schlicht »aufgedrängt worden«. Auch Nolte fasste seine Erwartungen in mehreren Thesen zusammen: - Die Sacherschließung müsse »Schwerpunkt der künftigen Arbeit werden«; - Informationstechnologie, Regelwerksarbeit und Optimierung der Datenformate seien besser aufeinander abzustimmen (Stichwort »Kompatibilität«); - dementsprechend müsse die Bibliotheken künftig stärker auf Spezialisten zurückgreifen, der Allround-Bibliothekar sei bei der Lösung und kontinuierlichen Bearbeitung der allfälligen Probleme überfordert; - um den Nutzer gerecht zu werden, seien verstärkt »multiple Zugänge nötig«; - und: »Die Vielfalt an Regelwerken lässt sich nicht einebnen«, die Zukunft liege folgerichtig in der »De-Standardisierung«. Wie seine Vorredner sprach auch Friedrich Geißelmann (Universitätsbibliothek Regensburg) den Themenkomplex »Sacherschließung« an, allerdings im Kontext der internationalen Zusammenarbeit und der sich daraus ergebenden Sprachprobleme bei der Pflege von Normdaten. Durch die Verwendung von Suchmaschinen, Digitalen Bibliotheken und Fachdatenbanken sei eine »breite Bewegung hin zu Konkordanzen« absehbar. Auch der Trend zu Aufstellungssystematiken in vielen wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken zeige deutlich: »Die bibliothekarische Sacherschließung hat Zukunft!«"
