Auflage 1998 einschließlich der 4. Ergänzungslieferung 2007. Das Beispielregister wurde wie schon zur 3. Ergänzungslieferung unverändert gelassen, es entspricht somit dem Zustand nach der 2. Ergänzungslieferung. Damit ist die elektronische Version der RSWK in allen Teilen inhaltsgleich mit der aktuellen Papierausgabe. Mit der elektronischen Ausgabe verbindet die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek die Erwartung einer einheitlichen Nutzung der RSWK und der SWD in einer heterogenen Informationslandschaft. Die Ergänzungslieferung enthält unter anderem Änderungen an Paragraf 18,3 (hier wurde der Schwerpunkt der Vergabe von Sprachencodes auf Werke bestimmter Wissensgebiete verschoben), Paragraf 405,3 (Ergänzung der als Sachschlagwort zu behandelnden Geschichtskomposita um »Formgeschichte«) sowie diverse redaktionelle Korrekturen (unter anderem Anpassung von Text und Beispielen an Regelwerksänderungen, die in der 3. Ergänzungslieferung 2005 der RSWK veröffentlicht wurden, und Verbesserung von Schreibfehlern). Die Expertengruppe RSWK/ SWD hat die Änderungen an den RSWK auf ihrer Sitzung am 10.     Abstract
    In subject cataloging of audiovisual materials generic terms like 'documentary' or 'absolute film' facilitate the work of users and librarians. On the concrete level the study shows 4 ways to make a list of generic terms for the application in general libraries. The heuristic function of the study is to offer methods towards the solution of problems in the field of subject cataloguing of non-book materials. (1) The formal subject heading in library science corresponds to generic terms; Anglo-American and German rules for subject cataloging, however, provide no list that is directly applicable. (2) The terminology of institutions administering many audiovisual documents has been examined; general libraries have to find a common denominator with medium depth of classification and balanced representation of fiction and nonfiction terms. (3) From encyclopedic definitions of generic terms 8 dimensions have been extracted characterizing the terms in question individually.     "Die Praxisregeln zu RAK-WB § 311 und RSWK § 106: Individualisierung von Personennamen beim Katalogisieren mit der Personennamendatei (PND) treten ab dem 1. Juli 2006 in Kraft. Die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek hat die Praxisregeln auf ihrer Website veröffentlicht: Praxisregel zu RAK-WB § 311 <urn:nbn:de:1111-20040721136> <http://nbnresolving.de/urn/resolver.pl?urn=urn:nbn:de:1111-20040721136> Praxisregel zu RSWK § 106 <urn:nbn:de:1111-20040721129> <http://nbn-resolving. de/urn/resolver.pl?urn=urn:nbn:de:1111-20040721129> Die Regelungen stellen für die Anwender der Personennamendatei (PND) eine Ergänzung zu den in den Regelwerken bestehenden Regelungen dar. Damit wird der vom Standardisierungsausschuss mit großer Mehrheit getroffene Beschluss, "Regelungen betreffend die Individualisierung von Personennamen vorab als Praxisregel zu veröffentlichen und in Kraft zu setzen" umgesetzt und der von den PND-Anwendern schon seit langem formulierte Wunsch eingelöst, die in der PND bereits realisierte Individualisierung auch im Regelwerk zu verankern. Die Praxisregeln folgen den im Jahr 2004 im "perso-Projekt" getroffenen Beschlüsse. Im "perso-Projekt" waren in einem gemeinsamen Projekt der Expertengruppen PND, Formalerschließung und RSWK/SWD die Personenansetzungsregeln der Regelwerke RAK-WB und RSWK aneinander angeglichen worden. Die miteinander abgestimmten Regeltexte hatten ein Stellungnahmeverfahren durchlaufen und der Standardisierungsausschuss hatte die Veröffentlichung und Anwendung beschlossen. Mit den Praxisregeln zur Individualisierung wird eine wichtige Grundlage für die Arbeit in der Normdatei PND manifestiert. Die nun in Kraft getretenen Praxisregeln können nur einen Teil der im "perso-Projekt" vereinbarten Entwicklungen realisieren, da sie sich noch an den im bestehenden Austauschformat gegebenen Möglichkeiten orientieren. Weitergehende Formatveränderungen sind darin wegen des beschlossenen Umstiegs nach MARC21 zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt nicht möglich. Aus diesem Grund werden auch noch unterschiedliche Textfassungen für die Praxisregel zu den RAK-WB § 311 und RSWK § 106 vorgelegt. Ein gemeinsamer Regelwerkstext für Formal- und Sacherschließung wird nach Abschluss der internationalen Regelwerksentwicklung formuliert. Die im "perso-Projekt" getroffenen Festlegungen werden in die Diskussion und Kommentierung des RDA-Entwurfs für Personenansetzungsregeln einfließen und den deutschen Standpunkt bestimmen. Individualisierte Datensätze in der PND stellen wertvolle Sucheinstiege für die Benutzer unterschiedlichster Kataloge und Bestände dar. Sie ermöglichen die Verlinkung von Veröffentlichungen von und über die Person, von Archivalien, Museumsbeständen und Lexikoneinträgen, wie z. B. in der deutschen Ausgabe der freien Internetenzyklopädie Wikipedia. Die PND umfasst zur Zeit ca. 2,7 Mio. Datensätze, von denen ca. 1,1 Mio. Datensätze individualsiert sind, d.h. genau eine Person beschreiben. Die kooperativ geführte Normdatei wird von allen deutschsprachigen Bibliotheksverbünden, dem Kalliope-Verbund und in Projekten angewendet. Mit vereinten Kräften und den nun geltenden Praxisregeln soll die Anzahl der individualisierten Datensätzen in den nächsten Jahren kontinuierlich steigen."

    "6. Ergänzungslieferung der RSWK: Im Januar 2010 wurde die 6. Ergänzungslieferung der RSWK <http://www.d-nb. de/standardisierung/pdf/rswk_erg_6.pdf> veröffentlicht. Die 6. Ergänzungslieferung enthält insbesondere Änderungen an den Grundregeln in den §§ 13-15, die auf Ergebnisse der Arbeitsgruppe Strategie der Sacherschließung zurückgehen (http://www.d-nb.de/standardisierung/afs/afs_prot.htm unter "Expertengruppe Sacherschließung - Arbeitsgruppen"). Das Ziel dieser Arbeitsgruppe war u.a., Empfehlungen zu erarbeiten, um mehr Material effizient in kürzerer Zeit erschließen zu können. Auch sollten den Bedingungen des Online-Retrieval stärker Rechnung getragen werden. Deshalb wurden in den RSWK die Regeln für die Anordnung der Schlagwörter in der Schlagwortfolge vereinfacht, die Regeln zur Permutation mit intellektuell vergebenen Permutationszeichen gestrichen und die Vorgaben, wann eine oder mehrere Schlagwortfolgen gebildet werden, ebenfalls vereinfacht. Das hat zu einer einheitlicheren Anwendung der RSWK in den Verbünden geführt. Nach § 13,3a RSWK wird nun der gesamte Dokumentinhalt als ein Ahema aufgefasst und durch eine Schlagwortfolge wiedergegeben, sofern eine zusammenfassende, unmissverständliche Beschlagwortung möglich ist. Die frühere Praxis, für Aeilthemen mehrere Schlagwortfolgen zu bilden, ist als Option nach § 13,3b weiterhin möglich. Um einheitliche Retrievalergebnisse zu gewährleisten, wurde das so genannte "Pleonasmusverbot" aufgehoben; d. h. ein geografischer Bezug, der im Schlagwort bereits verankert ist, wird in der Schlagwortfolge wiederholt (§ 13,2b). Anwendung der 6. Ergänzungslieferung in der DNB: Die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek wendet ab 1. April 2010 bei der verbalen Erschließung die in der 6. Ergänzungslieferung zu den RSWK vereinbarten Änderungen an.
