Dieser ist zum einen der Informationswissenschaft zuzuordnen, ist aber auch Teil der Betriebswirtschaftslehre und der Wirtschaftsinformatik. Mujans Buch geht auf eine Dissertation an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf zurück. Die Ausdrücke "Informationsmanagement" und "lernende Organisation" gewinnen in unserer Informationsgesellschaft immer mehr an Bedeutung. Informationsmanagement ermöglicht es, Informationen zu managen und den Informationsfluss in einem Unternehmen zu optimieren. Von einer "Lernenden Organisation" spricht man, wenn sich ein Unternehmen in einem ständigen Entwicklungsprozess befindet. Durch neue Erfahrungen und Möglichkeiten werden kontinuierlich Wissen und Handlungsspielräume neu überdacht und verändert.
