- Abstract
- Für die menschliche Erlebnis- und Erfahrungsweise sind Raum und Zeit die wesentlichen Ordnungsstrukturen. Die bewußte Wahrnehmung raum-zeitlicher Gebilde kommt im Gehirn zustande: In den Sinnesorganen werden bestimmte Reize physikalischer und chemischer Natur in nervöse Erregungen umgewandelt, die dem Gehirn zugeleitet und dort in komplizierter Weise verarbeitet werden. Die Ausführungen versuchen, den Kenntnishorizint der Hirnforschung im Grenzgebiet der bewußten Wahrnehmung und die Reichweite der vorhandenen Theorien der menschlichen Großhirnfunktion zu skizzieren und behandeln zuletzt die psychischen Erlebniswelten von Raum und Zeit und deren Störungen

- Abstract
- Aufgabe der Datenanalyse ist es, Daten zu ordnen, übersichtlich darzustellen, verborgene und natürlich Strukturen zu entdecken, die diesbezüglich wesentlichen Eigenschaften herauszukristallisieren und zweckmäßige Modelle zur Beschreibung von Daten aufzustellen. Es wird ein Einblick in die Methoden und Prinzipien der Datenanalyse vermittelt. Anhand typischer Beispiele wird gezeigt, welche Daten analysiert, welche Strukturen betrachtet, welche Darstellungs- bzw. Ordnungsmethoden verwendet, welche Zielsetzungen verfolgt und welche Bewertungskriterien dabei angewendet werden können. Diskutiert wird auch die angemessene Verwendung der unterschiedlichen Methoden, wobei auf die gefahr und Art von Fehlinterpretationen hingewiesen wird

- Abstract
- Dieses Buch handelt vom Wesen der menschlichen Intelligenz und davon, was es bedeuten würde, über 'Maschinen-Intelligenz' zu verfügen. Schon immer war es Ziel und Wunschtraum genialer Denker und Erfinder, die 'denkende Maschine' als Hilfsapparat für den Menschen zu konstruieren. Erst in unserer Zeit nähern wir uns mit Unterstützung des Computers der Verwirklichung der in der Tat hochfliegenden Pläne. Die Öffentlichkeit hat die Künstliche Intelligenz entdeckt, ist aber nicht ganz sicher, was das eigentlich ist. Schließlich müssen wir die Frage, was Computer können, parallel zu der Frage betrachten, WAS MENSCHEN KÖNNEN. Es fällt daher bis heute selbst den Fachleuten außerordentlich schwer, den Computer-Maschinen das Denken beizubringen.

- Abstract
- Nach einem Rückblick auf die Jahrestagungsthemen seit der Gründung der Gesellschaft für Klassifikation 1977 und auf die inhaltlichen Schwerpunkte ihrer 237 Vorträge in den bisherigen Proceedingsbänden werden einige anscheinend vernachlässigte Themen aus dem Problembereich der Klassifikation genannt. Die Schwerpunkte im internationalen Bereich, die sich in der laufenden Bibliographie in "International Classification" abzeichnen, sind ähnlich verteilt. Realisierbare Möglichkeiten der Klassifikationsforschung und -entwicklung in der Zukunft werden in 10 Punkten dargestellt und anschließend in "10 Thesen für die Weiterarbeit" zusammengefaßt

- Mit Hilfe eines generativen Modells der Begriffe der Gegenstände sollten alle wahrscheinlichen und 'unwahrscheinlichen' atomaren Gegnstände der Natur und Gesellschaft bzw. der praktischen Handlung und der theoretischen Überlegung feststellbar und die molekularen Gegenstände ableitbar sein. Das Modell wurde ursprünglich zur Klassifikation von Periodika einer Zeitschriftendatenbank erstellt und durch KLassieren von ca. 17.000 Periodika überprüft
