- Abstract
- Das Problem der Wahrnehmung und Darstellung von Wahrheit durch die Medien führt zu vier zentralen Fragen: Wie viel Wahrheit gibt es in der Welt, über die Journalisten berichten müssen? Wie ermittelt oder recherchiert man diese Wahrheit? Wie trennt man die Spreu vom Weizen? Und wie geht man als Journalist mit dem um, was man als Wahrheit erkannt hat oder erkannt zu haben glaubt? Hier gibt es ganz offensichtlich eine Parallele zwischen Journalisten und Wissenschaftlern. Journalisten und Wissenschaftler brauchen erstens Hypothesen, zweitens geeignete Hypothesentests, drittens ein gutes Abgrenzungs-Kriterium und viertens Verfahren, um die erkannten Sachverhalte auf angemessene Weise für eine Kommunikation mit anderen zu repräsentieren, das heißt sie darzustellen. Es gibt zwei große Unterschiede zwischen Journalisten und Wissenschaftlern: Journalisten sind in der Regel auf raum-zeitlich begrenzte Aussagen aus, Wissenschaftler in der Regel auf raumzeitlich unbegrenzte Gesetze. Aber diese Unterschiede sind fließend, weil Wissenschaftler raum-zeitlich begrenzte Aussagen brauchen, um ihre All-Aussagen zu überprüfen, und Journalisten sich immer häufiger auf das Feld der allgemeinen Gesetzes-Aussagen wagen oder doch zumindest Kausalinterpretationen für soziale Phänomene anbieten. Der zweite Unterschied besteht darin, dass die Wissenschaft weitgehend professionalisiert ist (zumindest gilt dies uneingeschränkt für die Naturwissenschaften und die Medizin), was ihr relativ klare Abgrenzungs- und Güte-Kriterien beschert hat. Diese fehlen weitgehend im Journalismus.

- Abstract
- Die elektronische Distribution auch für digitalisierte Videos und Bilder zu nutzen ist Ziel zahlreicher Überlegungen. Damit wird nicht nur die Verfügbarkeit der bislang nur über die Ausleihe vertriebenen Titel am Lernort erheblich verbessert. Die Integration von Internet, Software und digitalen Videos wird aber auch ganz neue didaktische Konzepte für das Lernen und Lehren ermöglichen. Das Potenzial wird noch einmal dadurch gesteigert, wenn zusätzlich digitale Medienmodule (Videoclips, Grafiken, Tondateien, Texte usw.) produziert und angeboten werden können. In dem im Landkreis München begonnenen Projekt BMOD wird die Distribution und Nutzung von digitalisierten FWU-Medien in einem kommunalen Intranet erprobt

- Abstract
- Dass sich Kommunikation über einen Medienmix vollzieht, stellt schon seit sehr langer Zeit den Regelfall dar. In letzter Zeit wird verstärkt für Mischungen aus gegensätzlichen Medien plädiert, allen voran aus konventionellen und elektronischen Medien. Der Beitrag behandelt die Frage, nach welchen Mustern derartige hybride Kommunikationsmixe konstruiert sind und wie deren Effektivität und Effizienz zu beurteilen sind. Die Beantwortung dieser Fragen erfolgt auf der Basis einer Expertenbefragung zum Einsatz von Web-2.0-Medien in Veränderungsprozessen.

- Abstract
- Die Forschungsbibliothek ändert ihr Gesicht: Elektronische Datenverarbeitung und Neue Medien erweitern die leistungsfähigkeit und die Aufgaben - vorausgesetzt, Bund und Länder sorgen für die erforderlichen Investititonen. Doch zugleich gerät die traditionelle Aufgabe der wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken in Gefahr. Die Bibliothekare fürchten, daß sie einen Teil der Informationen künftig nur noch inkasso für andere Anbieter vermitteln und die ehrwürdigen Einrichtungen zu Durchlauferhitzern verkommen
