    Abstract
    In verschiedenen Beiträgen werden die Entwicklungen lokaler Informationssysteme, die Interpretation einer 'nationalen Datenbank' als Netzwerk lokaler Informationsnetze beschrieben (Argument: Qualität und Inhalt der lokalen Datenbanken gewinnt an Bedeutung). Ebenfalls berücksichtigt ist die Entwicklung von NREN (National Research and Education Network), für dessen Aufbau als 'Information Superhighway' innerhalb von 5 Jahren 2,9 Mrd.
