    Abstract
    Verglichen mit ihrer mehr als zweieinhalbtausendjährigen Geschichte handelt es sich bei der Wissenschaftstheorie um eine sehr junge Disziplin der Philosophie. Von einer Etablierug als eigenständiger Disziplin kann erst seit den dreißiger Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts gesprochen werden. Verständlich wird die Entwicklung dieser neuen Disziplin aber nur, wenn man sieht, daß sie auf eine grundlegende Krise der Philosophie antwortet, nämlich auf das Scheitern des Projekts abendländischer Metaphysik, und gleichzeitig den Versuch darstellt, einen undogmatischen Begriff von Wissenschaft bereitzustellen durch eine Reflexion der Bedingungen, Möglichkeiten und Grenzen gesicherten Wissens

    Abstract
    Die Theorie der Wissenschaftskommunikation muss sich die konzeptuellen Bausteine aus jenen Wissenschaften holen, welche sich mit der Wissens- und Kommunikationsthematik eingehend, aber getrennt befassen. Die bisherigen Arbeiten zur Wissenschaftskommunikation machen davon leider nur einseitigen Gebrauch: Wissenschaftstheorie für die Vergangenheit, IuK-Technologie für die Zukunft der Wissenschaftskommunikation. Zur Wissens- und Wissenschaftskommunikation gibt es viele isolierte Theoreme, wenig ausgearbeitete Konzepte, keine umfassende Theorie. Was fehlt, ist ein verbindender, verbundener Ansatz. Dazu braucht es allerdinas mehr, als hier im Einzelnen erläutert werden kann.

    Abstract
    In diesem Beitrag soll die Interaktion zwischen Theorien von Wissen und Theorien von Wissenschaft beleuchtet werden. Während die Wissenschaftstheorie neben einer Wissenstheorie auch viele andere Elemente enthält, geht es in einer Wissenstheorie nicht nur um wissenschaftliches Wissen, sondern auch um andere Wissensarten. Beide Theorienbereiche sind seit Jahren von philosophischen und erkenntnistheoretischen Streitfragen geprägt. Zwischen Radikalem Konstruktivismus und Neo-Positivismus gibt es eine Fülle von epistemologischen Positionen. Die Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede im Hinblick auf Theorien des wissenschaftlichen Wissens, der Entstehung, Veränderung, Organisation, Repräsentation, kulturellen Diversität, Anwendung und Verarbeitung dieses Wissens sollen analysiert werden. Elemente einer Wissenstheorie als wesentlicher Bestandteil der Wissenschaftstheorie werden diskutiert. Schließlich sollen Schlussfolgerungen für die aktuelle Diskussion der Informations- bzw. Wissensgesellschaft und die Rolle der Wissensorganisation etwa am Beispiel der Terminologie- und Wissenstechnik gezogen werden

    "Wissenschaft entlarvt Illusionen. Vor der zersetzenden Kraft ihrer schonungslosen Analyse scheint nichts sicher. Ob die Illusion von Erdscheibe und Himmelsgewölbe, das »Ich« und der »freie Wille«, ob die Linearität eines Zeitstroms oder auch nur die bunte Farbenpracht in der Welt »da draußen«. All dies gibt es nicht in einem objektiven Sinn, wie man naiv meinen könnte, sondern diese Ideen sind Konstrukte des Gehirns, die sich evolutionär bei der Meisterung des Lebens bewährt haben. Die Evolution setzt bekanntlich auf Nützlichkeit und nicht auf das bestmögliche Erkennen irgendeiner vorfindlichen Objektivität. Das »Ich« ist ein Selbstmodell des Gehirns, der »freie Wille« eine soziale Attribution, und die Farben sind vom Gehirn generierte Erlebnisqualitäten bloßer elektromagnetischer Strahlung in einer absolut farblosen Welt. Ob Fortschritte in der Kosmologie, Neurobiologie oder in den anderen naturwissenschaftlichen Unternehmungen: Paradoxerweise scheint mehr denn je Skepsis bei der erkenntnistheoretisch so bedeutsamen Frage angebracht, ob und in welcher Weise wir die Welt »da draußen« außerhalb unseres Bewusstseins überhaupt erkennen können."
