- Describes the origins of the use of CD-ROMs in libraries and reviews the use of a 3-tier CD-ROM service in libraries in education based upon the expierience of Birminghampton University Library. This comprises: standalone CD-ROM workstations; CD-ROMs on a local area network; and CD-ROM networking on a wide area network.
