- Abstract
- Discusses the FACIT (Fast Austomated Conversion with Integrated Tools) project conducted by 2 Italian libraries, the Biblioteca Nazionale di Firenze (BNCF) and the Biblioteca Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele III di Napoli, with the participation of Danish libraries. The project lasted from 1993 to 1996 and aimed to develop instruments for the large scale conversion of catalogues using OCR techniques. Explains how the project was carried out on the Catalogo Palatino of the BNCF and attempts to evaluate the project both in terms of its technical success and value for more money
