Abstract

Discusses the introduction of the DDC system in Iceland in 1900 and examines the background to the amalgamation of the National Library and the University Library in 1994 and its implications for the translation and implementation of the DDC. Describes special Icelandic features of the 21st ed. of Dewey published in 1996
